The wind whips around us as we make our way up the side of the mountain. It's basic knowledge that wizards aren't able to apperate out of the country, so we need to rely on portkeys. Luckily Gracie was smart and pulled a few strings. So now we have a port key to France that's set to leave in just under half an hour.

Gracie is ahead of me making her way up the path, keeping an eye out for an old glove. I walk a bit faster to catch up to her. She leans into me as I wrap my jacket around her.

"You would think you wouldn't need a coat in summer." She grumbles as I chuckle.

"You usually don't. Clearly this year is full of surprises!" I whisper in her ear.

She smiles, "As if none of the others aren't. I swear everyday I'm faced with something new and weird."

"Welcome to the road of life, Love." I smile back at her.

We break through a clearing of trees seeing none other than Bellatrix sitting there next to the glove. She smirks and stands up brandishing the glove, "We heard you were running off. You know it wasn't that much of a surprise, you've been missing a lot of meetings."

I push Gracie behind me and pull my wand out. I hear her whimper and I glance back, seeing more death eaters. "Why do you care Bella? I'm leaving, I'm not going to stay involved in this."

She cackles, "You aren't going anywhere. I used to think you were different, different from your traitor of a brother."

"It runs in the family." I snarl, watching as they circle us.

"It seems that way." Bellatrix touches her wand to the glove and burns it. I watch as the ashes spread in the wind. Gracie's hand finds mine, sending a shock of relief through me.

"What are you here to do?"

"Stop you, from leaving and spreading our secrets. I also have a special order from your mother to use whatever matters needed." Bellatrix says, walking toward me.

She touches my cheek and I try to pull back but she grabs my chin holding me still as she studies me. Over the years, she'd abandoned self care completely. Her teeth have rot, and her hair is a mess of her once beautiful black hair. "And that's exactly what we're here to do. I don't like being made a fool of, and neither does the Dark Lord. He's very angry with you Regulus. He thought he could trust you."

"Then he's just as thick as you, if you think I'm going to turn myself over to you." I snarl.

She throws her head back and cackles, "Oh dear cousin, I never expected that! I knew you'd be just as difficult to find as your family. But like always we'll find you. You're much to stubborn to turn yourself over, that's why he sent the best."

I glance around and see that he did indeed send his best fighters. Among them is Avery and Mulcibur. I can see the both of the standing behind everyone else, exchanging quick looks. Both avoid my eyes.

I feel Gracie's hand tugged from mine as Bellatrix circles to her, "Oh you really are pretty. Shame if something were to happen to you. Don't you agree Reggie?"

"Don't you lay a finger on her." I growl, my voice low.

Bellatrix grabs a chunk of Gracies hair and studies it, mocking me. I see Gracie trembling under her touch. Too late do I notice someone pull out their wand and take mine and Gracie's. I curse myself for being thick enough to keep it in view of the others.

Once Bellatrix had her fun with studying Gracie, she pushes her into me. I quickly reach out and stop her before she falls. She's shaking in my arms as I keep my eyes on my devil cousin in front of us.
