I could hear my mum screaming from downstairs. She never stops, especially with Sirius. With Sirius starting at Hogwarts this year mum is making sure he won't do anything he'll regret which I know he will do so anyway. Sirius doesn't care about what our parents think, let alone what any of our family thinks.
"You really think that you can just walk away well guess what you filthy blood traitor, you won't be going to Hogwarts!" Mum shouted from downstairs.
"Like to see you try!", Sirius shouted back, walking up stairs.
"Sirius Black you get your arse back down here we are having company." Mum warns.
I heard Sirius keep walking but also heard him curse my mum under his breath. I opened my door and Sirius jumped back, "Thought you were leaving to get Bella and her family for tonight."
"No Dad thought it was better if he went alone." I replied.
Sirius snorted, "No wonder he didn't join dearest Mother!"
Sirius' face darkened. "You know if you tried to actually please them she might not get as mad." I say quietly.
"Yeah well sorry about that Reggie, but that will never happen. You know I hate this blood purity crap."
I sighed, "I know, but I had to try"
Sirius nodded his head and stalked off to his room to pack for the school year.
Later that night Dad returned with Bellatrix and her Mum and Dad, Cycnus and Druella, for supper. Mum was already on her last string with Sirius after earlier, so before she would do something to him, I volunteered to get him from his room. Bella piped up and asked if she could come up to. Knowing that if I was rude to her or simply said no I would get a beating later, I had no choice but to agree. As we walked up the stairs Bella was singing to herself practically jumping up the stairs. "What's got you so happy?" I asked.
"Well with... Sirius going to Hogwarts this year he will finally get to understand what it means to be a Black!" giggled Bellatrix.
I nodded. Knowing to well what she meant. She must have people set up to help him fall in line. As we reached Sirius' room I was ready to knock but Bella barged right in. Sirius spun around at his desk. "Yes?" he asked openly annoyed.
"Oh, I'm going to tell Mum you snapped at me!" Bella smirked, "Anyway supper is ready and you'd better be down soon!"
As Bella left I stayed with Sirius. "What are you working on?" I asked calmly.
Sirius got up. He's only a head taller than me. "Why do you care so much on what I'm doing?"
Regulus wasn't surprised with his tone of voice. "Look I know your not looking forward to tonight but you don't have to take it out on me."
Sirius sighed. "Sorry, I'm just happy I'm finally leaving tomorrow and tonight is just a reminder on what I'll be coming back to after the fact."
I nodded and patted his back. We walked back down stairs. I honestly feel bad for him he deals with so much from Mum and Dad. As we sat down Mum gave Sirius a disgusted look. "Do you not care what you look like during while we have company over?"
"No, not really." mumbled Sirius.
Mum sighed, disgusted with him and looked away and started the conversation again with Bella's parents. Dinner was otherwise uneventful, until after the other Black family left. Walburga got really mad with Sirius. She was yelling at him. He didn't care. That is until she turned to me, " YOU LET HIM COME DOWN HERE FOR SUPPER LOOKING LIKE THIS?"
As she yelled at me Sirius stepped in front of me as Mum raised her hand. As it came down it struck Sirius across the face. He didn't even flinch. I reached out and touched his shoulder. He grabbed my hand and dragged me upstairs threw me into my room and walked off to his. From the room over I could hear him cursing Mum and trying to us a spell to make his face go back to normal for tomorrow.
I walked quietly over to his room. I knocked and I could hear him moving around but he didn't come to let me in. I knocked again but this time I called his name. He answers the door and my mouth pressed into a thin line. He put his hand over my mouth and pulled me into his room. Half his face was black and purple. "What do you want?" asked Sirius impatiently.
"Um.. I- I came to see if you wanted help with your bruising.", I stammered.
"I'm fine I've done it plenty of times." he said coldly.
"Just let me try pl-.", I was cut off by Mum coming up the stairs yelling for Sirius.
"Get out of here.", Sirius quickly pushed me out of his room.
