I wake up to the sound of an owl at our window. I pick my head up off the pillow and groan. Gracie is still sound asleep next to em, so I stand up and walk over to the window before the thing starts making too much noise.

I pull the window open shivering as the crisp autumn air comes into the cottage. The small owl drops the newspaper and the letter and holds its foot out to me, revealing the small bag. I hand over a few coins and it flies off quickly. I close the window and take the letter and news out of the room, allowing Gracie to get her well needed sleep.

I toss the news paper on the table, and take the letter with me as I make myself a cup of tea.

Theres no name on the front of the envelope, leaving me slightly hesitant to open it. Usually if it's from Sirius or Emma, they tend to leave their name on the front.

But I still tear open the top of it and pull out the letter inside of it.

You have done me wrong. Don't think for a second you're safe. I know where you are, you will pay for your sins against me Regulus Black. Too long have I waited to get revenge for all you've done. I will hunt you down, I will kill you. That's a promise.

I crumple the letter and throw it across the room. I sit down heavily in a chair abandoning my tea. I have no doubt on who sent that. The last time I had seen Bellatrix she had said the same thing to me, but this wasn't her. This was a letter from Voldemort himself.

I know he means everything he said in the letter, excpet for one thing. He doesn't know where I am. But I also know he won't stop until he finds me. I've told too many of his secrets to get away without any consequences.

I rub my eyes and grab the news. I quickly read over it, seeing nothing really new. Or at the least nothing to be overly worried about.

Which will make Gracie very happy, as she would like to do something tonight for Halloween.

She's been talking of a surprise but she won't say anything about it to me.

That is a huge reason I won't be telling Gracie about that letter. Other than the fact I don't want to get her even more involded with that kind of stuff. She deserves to not have to worry about it. I've already ruined the chance of her having a stress free life, of her having a good life. I don't want to ruin it much more for her with my issues.

All I want is for her to have a good, safe life. I know that she can't have that with me. I too messed up to go back now, and this isn't evn the end of it.

"Regulus?" I hear Gracie call out, worry wrapped in her voice.

She must have woken up and didn't see me. "I'm here."

She shuffles into the kitchen and stands over my shoulder. She reaches forward and takes the newspaper from me. "You need to stop tourturing yourself with all this news. Especially on a holiday."

"Says you. You're as bad as I am, maybe even worse." I laugh.

She shrugs, "Today is not a time to worry over such things."

"So you've said, about a million times."

"Sue me, I like Holloween!" She rolls her eyes, "I always had the best experiances on this night, I just want to share it with you."
