Chapter 13 : Trust me

''this is ridiculous we shouldn't return there, she clearly tricked us"
Chanyeol grumbled as he walked forward with angry steps.

'' w-we have to, she said a map to a warlock... she couldnt have known it wasnt to the one we've searched "
Jongdae stuttered as he limped behind and I turned around to kyungsoo keeping his eyes on the ground that he was stepping on.

'' it wasnt even a warlock it was a stupid seeer I'm, she planned this. She was acting weird with.. kyungsoo before that aswell "
I frowned to myself at chanyeols words

'' I'd have to agree with him on that actually. As much as I don't think it's a good idea to return- "
Kyungsoo looked up as I said that giving me these frowning eyes that he had given me before when I mentioned we shouldnt return. So I sighed.
'' I trust kyungsoo"

My eyes drifted to chanyeol seeing as he only briefly glanced at him aswell.
I'd expected him to say something provoking toward him again but instead I was confronted with silence.

Uncomfortable silence at that.
I felt angry as much as frustrated, I wanted to return to confront the alpha about this and figure something out anything to get kyungsoos his voice back. But it seemed like I owed him trust and attention now more than ever.
How many more times is he gonna save my life while being so selfless.
And I told him I was going to protect him..

I only ever let him down.

I flinched when the ground shock for a moment and we all stopped in our steps.

Quieckly I turned to kyungsoo, who stumbled forward at that. Making me reach out and steady him before he could fall.

I looked before us to see wolves stepping closer, so I placed my hand onto my sword as did chanyeol while to my surprise we both stepped in front of kyungsoo.
I figured he just meant to step in front of me but it caught me off guard nonetheless.

'' what's the meaning of this now!?" I glared in anger, pulling my sword and turning it in my hand when they showed their teeth threateningly to us.
chanyeol pulled his sword aswell and jongdae glanced nervously at me.

The wolf in the middle closed its mouth stepping closer while slowly shifting its bones with every step.

It still made me cringe to hear the noises of them cracking as I backed away a little making sure kyungsoo stays close to me but even he back away ready to pull his bow off.

Soon enough the daughter of the alpha stood in front of me, minhee barely dressed in anything as she gave me her blank expression before the tough facade broke a little as she looked at kyungsoo, probably spotting his different coloured eyes and then jongdae before finally back at me.

'' did you get what my mother requested ?" She asked blankly.

I wanted to raise my sword and curse her for daring to even ask after the deal they've made when the alpha had tricked us and shed clearly been aware of it by the look in her eyes.
If it was guilt..

But kyungsoo had moved before I did, pushing my arm down as he pulled a little stone out of his pocket while stepping foreward. It was purple, glowing a little with some sort of signs incarved that I couldnt make out in the short moment I've seen them.

he reached it out to her.
'' kyungsoo !" I frowned stepping up and grabbing his arm to stop his hand from giving her the stone. '' they didn't do as they said. The map was wrong-"
'' it wasn't " minhee interrupted.'' am I right ?"
