Chapter 10 : Cowards

[ happy new year, I hope everyone (who celebrates Christmas) had a good time despite the .. well times we are in now.

Times like these make it specially hard to be optimistic aswell.

I looked up at the tree as a few leafs had fallen off, a.. a weird looking Birds was climbing its way up causing them to fall.

It was so fast and it had a very fluffy Big tail in comparison to the rest of its body. I also did not think it was really flying or had wings for that matter.
It was very different..
it even had a different furr.

Yet when I watched it jump in between the trees..- maybe it was still somewhat flying..

What flying must feel like. Surely it must be better than falling into a cave after being attacked and almost killed by some .. trees.

That sounded oddly pathetic in my head when compared to what it actually was like.

Or that time me and jongin fell into a cave after we met the fair folk and then fought against a cyclops, back then I was afraid he might not like the sight of me using my voice like that ... but it almost seemed like he was proud of me in a sense like he found the use of my ability.

'' what kind of bird is that ?" I finally questioned unconsciously as I watched it continue to move around.
Before I would lose myself further in thought.

Ofcorse he would not answer to me.
Instead he shock his head grumbling useless things to himself as I have gotten used to it.

So I rolled my eyes annoyed as I stepped over to him
'' what ? Trying to find a place to pipi? "

He only briefly looked at me, moving the map away and out of my sight.
'' I'm trying to read the map and get us foreward so In other words I'm being useful unlike you watching squirrels "

I folded my arms as he walked a few steps ahead just to get away from me and stop there again.
'' let me have a look at the map and I will read it "

He shock his head, laughing.
'' yeah right.. like you have any idea of how to use a map "

My anger was growing by every second and I clenched my teeth trying hard to compose myself
'' excuse me ? "

'' oh sorry " he briefly turned to me before speaking in a slow and patronizing way '' you from water, you not same level of thought like human to make or read, this " he waved the map lazily '' map~"

My mind must have gone wild for a moment when my hand landed on my dagger in my belt as I inhaled deeply.
I would pull it and stabb both his legs to make him kneel before me and ask again what the level of thoughts were.

Oh, how satisfying it would be to have him begging for mercy and forgiveness.

I closed my eyes, exhaling as I dropped my hand again.
Not yet, not today.
'' how could someone who fought in wars act so obnoxiously childish "

He huffed out a ridiculed chuckle, dropping his hands that had held the map up to him as he turned to me again. '' what do you know about war ? All you do Is trick humans into their death "

This time I rose both my eyebrows in disbelief as I simply stepped up closer '' it does not surprise me that you still think humans are the center of the world "
