Chapter 17 : A Goodbye

I stopped struggling when she finally lost her grip on jongins throat letting him cough and breath hard to get air into his lungs again while she was looking up in shock and irritation as her eyes landed on her daughter minhee who had entered in a rush '' what ?"

'' I dont .. I dont " her eyes swiftly landed on me before back at her mother '' I dont know how but he lost his voice..  he cant speak and he doesnt have any abilities anymore "

Hesitating the alpha looked at me specifically from my right eye to my left when she started stumping toward me, harshly grabbing me by my chin to force eye contact with her.
'' no .. " she whispered angrily and in defeat '' It cant be .. '' her lips parted only to close again, the unsettling panic in her became more evident by every moment that past ''speak ! Now !"

Before I could even show any sort of response she let my chin go to kick me hard.

Her men had let me go and I dropped to the ground, grimacing at the ache her boot left on me not even getting a moment to calm down when once again she started kicking me repeatedly making it hard for me to catch my breath as I had even started moving away on the ground by the force of her boot meeting my stomach and side.

Until she stopped because of an all too familiar voice speaking calmly.
'' this isnt how I've kept you in my memory "

I was wheezing in breaths by now, looking at only her boots in front of me as she turned around, clearing me a view of jongin whos yells had also calm down as I looked at him tiredly instead.

'' Jeen.. " the alpha stated looking at the other woman standing in the room.

I could tell instandly that it was the seeer by seeing her fancy dress and when I glanced up the way she had played with her hair in boredom.
'' what did you do ?"

'' what do you mean me ? You should ask your daughter what she did look behind yourself " I followed the alphas glance as she turned around shocked.

Minhee stood there, stabbing her sword into the wood on the ground when other wolfs now entered to stand behind her slowly. '' I'm sorry "

'' minhee!?" She almost yelled angrily but before she could speak Korean and arrow was shot to land in her thigh causing her collapse, growling loudly as she tried to shift but another arrow landed in her other thigh before she could, causing her to collapse foreward to hold herself on her palms.

The wolves that had tied us up were just standing, watching in hesitation.
It was clear that they were conflicted aswell not knowing if they should fight against what was happening or not.

Minhee nodded at jongin and the others to order her men to untie them before she briefly looked at me as another one of hers came over to untie me now.

'' what do you think you're doing !?" The alpha protested and she stepped closer, ripping the necklace out of her mother's hand.

Before I knew it jongin had already been by my side, cupping my face to look over me but I kept my eyes on minhee as she held the necklace now.

'' burn it " with those words some sort of relief had washed over me and I exhaled it as she gave it to one of hers letting them burn it in the torch near by while the alpha screamed and struggled in protest.

Finally some men on the alphas side had pulled their weapons, pointing them at minhee while others shifted to stare at her.

But minhee didnt seem the slightest bothered when she frowned down at her mother instead.
