Rosie's POV
"Oh Rosie, you look so beautiful!" said Daddy. I am wearing a long and silky white dress that goes to the ground with laced sleeves. I have a flower in my hair which was pulled back into a bun. I am getting married today.
Matthew and I decided that we were going to be married in the temple and then have our reception in an open greenhouse.
Today's the day. I am about to walk down the aisle with my father. I can't believe that today is the day!
"Are you ready Rosie?" asked my dad holding his arm out for me to grab.
"I have never been more ready in my life." I grab his arm. The doors open and the best man and the maid of honor go out first. They are Robbie and Sammie. When they came home from their missions, they were surprised to find out that we were engaged. Robbie and Sammie are getting married next month; they wanted to focus on one wedding at a time.
The next that go are Russell and Mila and Maida and Jon. Then Matthew's sister Brooke and her husband, Mike. Sophia and Chandler walk down together after that. They have been dating for a while now. I am really excited for them!
Next are Emma and Steve. There are times when Steve is someone to watch out for, but I trust him, so does Matthew.
Next are the parents. Matthew's dad Robert has his wife Cindy on his right and my mom Amy of his left.
Then my father and I go next. I start to feel nervous. I am walking down the aisle; I thought that I would be calm. Then, I look up. Matthew is standing there looking at me, calming me down. Looking in his eyes, I realize that I am more ready than I think I am. With every step closer to Matthew, I feel calmer. I am about to marry the love of my life, my one and only.
I stop right in front of Matthew. My father, Jason brings the veal in front of my face away and kisses my forehead. He grabs my hand and Matthew's as well and units them. He walks over to my mom Amy and the ceremony starts.
Staring into Matthew's eyes, I start to think about eighth grade. That was the time when our feelings for each other were hard to comprehend. I had a crush on him the whole year, and it seemed he didn't like me at all that year. It was a strange time for us. We then went into high school the next year. That was the year when we never really saw each other, and when we did, we ignored each other. The next year which was sophomore year, we were just friends, nothing more and nothing less. Junior year was the year when Matthew seemed to stare at me more, but I was with Andrew that year, so I didn't care. Then senior year came. I remember when Steve beat Matthew in my room towards the beginning on the school year. That night was when I was caring for his wounds. I remember cleaning up the cuts in his chest and the bruises on his back. I then remember when we were at prom. That was the night that he told me that he will always love me, and I told him that I just wanted to be friends. He has really gone through a lot just to prove that he loves me.
I now understand completely that he never wanted Bella to kiss him. He didn't tell me the first time it happened because he didn't want me to be mad. He didn't want me to leave him. Although he did the wrong thing and didn't tell me, it ended up getting worse. If he told me what happened the first time, then I would have understood completely if it happened again, but everything happens when we don't expect it. And everything that we don't want to happen happens eventually. It's sad, but true. I never thought that I would have been cheated on by two boyfriends in a row. I also never thought that I would date someone that used to abuse me. It's weird to think that people can change really fast. Me, for example, I changed from a little girl with big dreams, to a woman who wants nothing more than what she has. All three of the boys that I have dated changed drastically at one moment or another as well. Andrew changed from being a really nice boy to a complete maniac. Steve changed from being a complete maniac to a really nice guy. Matthew, now his was a little different. He went from being a total goofball and never taking anything seriously to a serious and loving man. Matthew learned to grow up while still being funny and a goofball. He learned to love with all his heart. He also learned to never give up. I've seen it. After he almost gave up after we broke up, he learned that it was the wrong thing to do. He has grown wiser and more mature, but he was always there to be stupid when he needs to be. He is always there to be immature when he needs to be. He knows when he's needed, and he knows that I need him. He knows that I love him and I am glad that he does.
Matthew squeezes my hand, breaking me out of my little trance.
"Matthew Ivenson Peterson, will you take this woman, through sickness and health and through trials and happiness to hold this woman for all of eternity?"
"I do." I smile at his response.
"And Rosalinda Marie Anderson, will you take this man, through sickness and health and through trials and happiness to hold this man for all of eternity?"
"I do."
"Then I pronounce you both, husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride Brother Peterson."
Matthew looks deeper into my eyes and pulls me close and kisses me passionately.
We walked out of the beautiful Salt Lake Temple and greet friends and family after we are sealed together.
A sealing is when you are blessed to always have each other after death. When people say that family is forever, that is what they mean. Once we die, our parents, our grandparents, and everyone else before will meet you in heaven and wait for your return. You will always find each other, no matter what.
As one big group of friends and family, we take a big picture. Then, Matthew and I went around the temple and took pictures as Sammie, Sophia, Emma, Steve, Chandler, and Robbie went to finish setting up for the reception.
As we are taking pictures, I notice that every chance Matthew gets, he kisses my cheek and whispers how he loves me in my ear. My wedding dress shins in the beautiful spring sunlight. There is one picture that I was able to see once my cousin Chelsie took it. It was a picture of my dress reflecting the sunlight not too brightly, but enough to have a perfect shine and Matthew is kissing my cheek and I am smiling. It is a beautiful picture, and I am going to cherish it for the rest of my life.
Once all of the pictures are done, we go to the greenhouse where the reception is and the party starts. People start arriving and Matthew and I stand next to each other greeting people under a small gazebo inside the greenhouse.
Time came to cut the cake. Matthew and I cut it, and I grabbed part of the piece we cut and shoved it in his face for kicks. He does the same and we kiss while eating the cake on our faces. We leave to clean it up then go back for the parent dance. I danced with my dad and Matthew danced with his mom.
Not long after that, it became time for mine and Matthew's first dance as a married couple. I can't help but think about the dance at prom and how he won back my heart that night. I whisper into Matthew's ear, "I will always love you."
Before I could get a response, Matthew fell to the ground screaming in pain. There is blood all over his white shirt. I fall to the ground panicked but too scared to cry. I look up the next second and see a man with a beard and long hair. The beard looks fake, but the hair looks real. I look into his eyes to see a look of shock and victory. Those are very familiar eyes. Those eyes belong to some who has ruined my life. Andrew Daner.
