Rosie's POV
Two months later
"Rosie, I don't know if I can do this" said Sammie.
"Don't worry! I know you can do this!" I said. I am trying to help Sammie talk to Robbie about her feelings for him. They have been friends now for two months. And seeing them talk, you can obviously tell that they like each other. I mean, I already knew that Sammie liked Robbie, but to know that Robbie likes her, it got me excited. So, when I told Sammie that I noticed he likes her, I agreed to help her tell him how she feels.
"But what if you're wrong? What if he doesn't like me?" asked Sammie.
I gave her a look then said, "Why are you even asking this? I know what I know! And I know that you can do this!"
"Fine, are you sure that I can do this?" asked Sammie.
"Yes! Now go!" I pushed Sammie ahead of me and she kept walking. Come on Sammie!
Sammie taps Robbie's shoulder. He turns around and his face lights up like it usually does. I smile at his reaction.
Sammie looks back at me. I move my hands in that sort of position that moves her forward. She turns back to Robbie. "Umm, Robbie?"
"Yes Sammie?" asked Robbie in a loving kind of questioning. It has never been so obvious when a boy loves a girl before. I can't believe that she doesn't see that he has a crush on her.
"Um... Do you know what we did in science the other day?" I face palmed. Why Sammie? Why!!??!?! Robbie's face lowered.
"Oh, um, yeah" said Robbie. He looked so sad yet tried to keep a happy look on his face. He handed a paper to her; I guess that it was notes or something. Sammie walked back to me.
"What is wrong with you!?!? He looks so sad because you didn't tell him how you feel!! Dude, that man is in love with you!" I said in a loud shout like whisper.
"I don't know if he will ever feel that way with me. I am just going to take a step back" said Sammie. I freaked out! Why is she doing this to herself? She walked away before I could say anything. Man, what am I going to do with these two?!
Matthew's POV
I am so happy that Rosie is out trying to get Sammie her guy. It makes Rosie feel better to know that there is a person that Sammie can fall back on if I am with Rosie. It just makes everything better.
Rosie walked over to me after Sammie failed at her attempt to tell Robbie how she feels about him... Again...
"Man, what am I going to do with those two? They are both not cooperating! Do you know how hard it is to mentor someone who has complete doubt that the other likes her? So freaking hard!! I am just about ready to give up on her" said Rosie. I hugged her and kissed her forehead.
"Don't worry, it will happen soon enough. So don't give up!" I said. Rosie sighed.
"Well then, I guess I should go find her and talk her into talking to him again..." said Rosie. She reached up to me and kissed my cheek then lazily walked out the door to find Sammie.
As I watch Rosie walk away, I feel someone tap me on the shoulder. I turn to see Bella. "Hey! How are you?" I asked more friendly then I used to with Rosie and all of her our friends. I used to be a little rougher with everyone, especially Rosie. I notice that Bella seems sad. "What's wrong?"
"Matthew, there are a lot of things that I have been hiding inside me for many years now, and seeing you with Rosie doesn't help me at all. Although I knew that you two would always be together from the beginning, I still want you to know how I feel although you are very happy" said Bella. I was a little confused. Bella continued, "Please don't take this the wrong way." She grabbed my face and kissed me flat on the lips softly.
I now understand everything loud and clear. That explains why she is always looking at me and is always sad when I am around. Bella pulled away and said, "I just had to do that once. I'm sorry." She walked away.
I stood there like a lost boy for a second. What in the world just happened?
I immediately think to myself, what if Rosie came towards me with this expression on my face? I can't have her think that this ever happened! I immediately go and sit down at my seat. I make sure that I look like nothing happened.
Sammie's POV
As I walk away, I can't help but think about want Rosie keeps saying about me and Robbie. Is this even true? Does he really look at me like I am the one? I doubt it. He has so many other girls drooling over him. I doubt that he would choose me over prettier girls.
I decide that I should get a little bit of fresh air. So, I go outside. Once I get there, I breathe in deeply the dry Utah air that is fresh to all of us Utahans. Then I look inside the window to see Matthew and Bella talking.
Oh good! I'm glad that they are finally talking. Bella has been sad around him lately. I thought to myself. Then I see Bella and Matthew kiss. What?! Why would Matthew do this to Rosie!? I thought that they were inseparable... I turn around in shock of what I have just seen. Did I seriously just see Bella and Matthew kiss?! Oh crap! I have to tell Rosie... I can't keep this kind of secret from her, it would kill both of us if I knew and she didn't!
"Sammie!" I hear Rosie yell from the door of the school cafeteria. I turn back to see if they are still kissing, but instead Matthew is just standing there alone. I turn back to Rosie. "What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost" said Rosie.
"I didn't, but I saw something much worse" I said.
"What could possibly be worse than seeing a ghost?" asked Rosie.
"Seeing the one you love kissing one of your best friends..." I said quietly but enough for only her to hear me.
There was a bit of silence. Rosie looked like her heart was broken for a second, but then she started to look angry. "Why would by best friend tell me such a horrible and disgusting lie?"
"Rosie, it's not a lie, it's the truth! I saw Matthew and Bella kiss through the window!" I pointed through at the window where Matthew looked like nothing has even happened.
Rosie looked in the window with me. "Do you really expect me to believe that? He looks exactly the way I left him!"
"But, they did kiss, Bella was there kissing him!" I said.
"Stop lying to me Sammie!"
"Would I really ever lie to you, my best friend?! If you think that I am telling you this just to play a joke on you, then you really don't know me! I AM YOUR BEST FRIEND! I WOULD NEVER TELL YOU THIS UNLESS IT WAS TRUE, AND IT IS!!"
"YOU KNOW WHAT!? I AM DONE WITH YOU!! YOU ARE APPARENTLY NOT MY BEST FRIEND ANYMORE BECAUSE YOU HAVE DONE THIS TO ME!! NO FRIEND DOES THIS TO A FRIEND!!" yelled Rosie. Then she stormed away from me.
Rosie's POV
WHY WOULD SHE DO THIS TO ME!?!?! I have never been so mad at someone in my entire life! Just when things were getting better for everyone, Sammie decides to mess everything up! Wow, some friend she is!
I walk over to Matthew and sit next to him. My hands are in fists as I sit. Matthew puts his hands on my fists and my hands weaken immediately. I grab his hands and lean on his shoulder. He takes a big sigh once I do.
"Is everything okay?" asked Matthew.
"No. Sammie just told me to worst lie anyone could ever tell me. She said that she saw you kissing Bella though the window" I said. Matthew's breath froze.
Matthew's POV
Oh crap. Sammie saw. I might die! I can't lose Rosie! But then, Rosie didn't believe her. Maybe I won't lose her after all.
"Yeah, that sure is a horrible lie! Why would I ever kiss someone else when I am with this most beautiful girl in the world" I said. I pulled her chin up to mine and kissed her.
Rosie smiled through our kiss. "See, this is why she is wrong." Rosie reached up to me and kissed me again. Then the bell rang for lunch to end and for us to go to our next class. Rosie stood up with her things, and I followed her.
