Shadows chase me far from home,
I remember when my heart was filled with gold

"So, how did it go?" Rex asked while Kayla approached him, resting his helmet aside while she stopped about an arms length away from him. "Um..okay, I guess. I'm still not sure about her, but I'm also not sure if she's lying." She admitted, looking from the ground to Rex. "I don't know what to do."

"Like you said, just be cautious. We don't know for sure if this girl is telling the truth, so, just be prepared."

"I hope I don't have to." She replied, climbing up onto the wall where Rex was standing and sitting next to his helmet, though she picked it up and observed it. "So, how have you been these last seven months, Rex?"

"I've been here. Doing my best to win fights that need to be won. How about yourself? Training ended quick for you." Rex replied, Kayla raising an eyebrow at him. "Yeah, I think it was because my skills were improving a lot. Plus, it didn't really end. Obi-Wan still has to help me complete my Jedi training."

"Like..Ahsoka, is it?" Rex asked, Kayla nodding while looking down at his helmet, admiring it and still not believing she's holding it. Rex noticed her looking at his helmet and rose an eyebrow.

"What is it? Is something wrong with it?" Rex asked, Kayla quickly looking up and shaking her head. "Oh, no! No! There's nothing wrong with your helmet. I just really admire it, that's all. Blue's my favorite color, so whenever I see blue, it makes me feel like I'm back at home."

Kayla blushed, realizing what she just said and looked at Rex with wide eyes. "I mean...I-uh.."

A shout from another trooper caused Kayla and Rex to look into the direction of it and Kayla, from afar, could see that the girl was seizing and she quickly jumped off the wall. "Rex! Get a medic! Quick!"

Rex didn't take much time to respond before Kayla bulleted towards the girl, grabbing her by the shoulders holding her down. "Hey! Hey! Are you okay?!"

The girl continued to shake and Kayla knew something was wrong. The girl's veins were glowing green and they were pulsing really fast. So fast that if any longer, the veins will pop. Kayla knew she had to do something.

"Hang on. I'm coming." She muttered, closing her eyes. Just as she opened them again, she was flung back, groaning as she opened her eyes, seeing the hooded figure for several months ago, but he was holding the girl by the throat. Kayla watched her thrash and kick, struggling against his grip and quickly got up to her feet into a fighting stance.

"Let the girl go, Sidious. She has nothing to do with this." She replied, the hooded figure laughing insanely as he continued to choke the girl to the point where Kayla thought she wasn't breathing. "This is your last chance, Sidious! Let her go!"

"Or what?" He replied, turning around to face Kayla. Kayla grabbed her hilts, both igniting as she fell into a battle stance again and glared at the figure. "Or this will be your last breath."

"You can attack me all you want, child. But you will never defeat me. Coming to this world was a big mistake. Because even when you think you can change what will come, you will lose regardless. You and this pathetic excuse of a witch!" Sidious had thrown the girl towards Kayla and she looked at her, immediately realizing why the girl looked so..dark.

"She's..a Nightsister?" She muttered to herself looking to the girl. "You can be a powerful asset to me if you wanted to. You have strong abilities. Join me, and you will rule galaxy at my side as my General. You can conquer worlds, do with them as you please. And you won't have to worry about any restrictions on your powers. All you have to do..is say yes."

"Hell no. I'm not evil. I will never EVER join you. And even if I wanted to, you'll just kill me in the end. I'd rather die beside my Master and my men before I go down as a Sith. And that will be the last time you will ever ask me something like that." Kayla warned, quickly retracting her blades and grabbing hold of the girl.

"Run all you want, but we will meet again. And next time, you will take my offer or die." And with that, Kayla was force pushed back, or at least she thought she was, until she opened her eyes and realized that someone was pulling her back by her shoulder. She turned around, seeing it was Rex, and he had a panicked look on his face.

"Hey! You alright?! What happened?!" Rex quickly asked, Kayla staring at him a moment, not sure what to tell him, but she did look back at the girl and saw the girl now had stopped seizing and was now staring at Kayla with scared and painful brown eyes. "I believe you.."

"W-What?"

"I believe you. I know you were forced to be a decoy against your will. You're safe with us, uh.." Kayla began, realizing she couldn't remember the girl's name.

"Violet. Its Violet Grant." The girl replied, Kayla nodding and holding out her hand, the girl, Violet, taking it and she was hoisted off the ground and onto her feet. "Thank you. I was afraid you wouldn't get to me on time. I was so scared. I thought I could take him on, but when he attacked me.."

"Its okay. I understand. So..you're a Nightsister?" Kayla asked, Violet shrugging and hugging herself. "I guess so. I don't know. I just got here a couple hours ago."

"From where? Dathomir?" Violet shook her head while pointing at Kayla. "I came from Earth just like you."

"How is that possible?" Kayla heard Rex ask as she shook her head. "I don't know. Did you see a portal too when you got here?"

"No. I didn't. I actually went to sleep and I woke up here. I pinched myself dozens of times to make sure I was awake and I felt it everytime. Its like I'm stuck inside my own head." Violet explained, Kayla furrowing her eyebrows in confusion. She's never read stories where the reader gets stuck in their own dream except when they're in a coma or something similar to that. And yet, this girl just fell asleep and is now stuck in her own dream.

Kayla, at this point, was very confused and had excused herself from Violet while asking Rex to speak with him. As the two got farther away, Kayla froze in her tracks. "Rex, we need to contact Anakin and let him know about this."

"Do you think we could help her?" Rex asked, Kayla shaking her head in confusion. "I don't know. Like I said, I fell through a portal and that's how I got here. She got trapped in her own dreams. I don't know how to go about this. Someone is trapping people here and we need to figure out who."

"When you find this person.." Rex began, Kayla looking at him and she saw an unreadable expression on his face. Something between sadness and confusion. She wasn't sure. To her, it was hard to tell. "Will stopping them return you back home?"

"That's what I'm worried about. I really don't want to leave, as much as I miss my home and my parents and my friends. This is the type of place I belong. Maybe war isn't, but being around people like you guys is exactly where I need to be. Besides, going back will hurt a lot knowing you'll be fictional again." Kayla explained, lowering her gaze to the ground.

This was a painful thought. Having to wonder whether or not she would return home if she caught whoever was doing this. The thought of going back home to being a regular girl who hardly any friends, basically is weird to anyone and everyone that meets her, it scared her.

But for now, all she had to worry about was Sidious and what he will do next.
