^ Chapter Nine: Crazy Things ^

"Let's see..he said to follow the containers to the lookout post. But, I don't...oh." I began, looking up to see clone troopers standing around, the weapons ready in case of trouble.

"Okay, well, here goes nothing." I told Abbey who beeped in agreement. As we walked/wheeled through, I noticed that the troopers looked my way and I rose an eyebrow, wondering why, until I was stopped by another trooper.

"Can I help you, miss?" He asked, myself looking around when he did. "Um..yeah. I'm looking for Captain Rex and Commander Cody." I said, looking around for the familiar armor of the two officers.

"And who's asking?" He asked while I bit the inside of my cheek. "I'm Kayla Ames, I'm Master Kenobi's Padawan."

"Well, nice to meet you, kid. The Commander and Captain are down that way. You can't miss them." The trooper said while I nodded. "Thank you, um..."

"Waxer. The name's Waxer." I smiled, remembering Waxer from a later episode and held out my hand for him to shake. He shook it and chuckled wholeheartedly when he did.

"You've got quite a grip."

"Yep. I've been told." I said, while we pulled our hands back. "Well, thank you, Waxer. I'll be seeing you around."

"You as well, kid." I walked off, following the crowd of troopers on guard. I knew I've been here for seven months, but it still felt like I was dreaming. I was greeted by a few clones, myself greeting back and waving. I eventually found the men I was looking for and grinned upon seeing them.

Abbey beeped once more, myself looking down at her. "Yeah, that's Cody and Rex. The two clones I was telling you about." Abbey whirred in realization, both of us walking towards them.

"Well, well, if it isn't my boys in blue and yellow.." I greeted, smiling at them both as I approached. However, they looked straight up confused. Probably thinking, who the hell is this lady? "Oh, boy...okay...strange girl falls through a portal from a different universe..?"

"K-Kayla?!" Cody asked, in pure shock, just like Anakin and Obi-Wan, and I nodded, smiling as Cody stretched out his hand and I shook it. Just before he could say anything else, I quickly said, "I know! I got a grip."

"How did you know.."

"I'm getting that one too many times today." I said, an annoyed look on my face when I did. "Well, you do."

"Eh..nope, you guys are just weak." I said with a smirk. Cody looked amazed and offended at the same time and I lightly punch his forearm. "I'm kidding. Geez. Uh..Rex? You okay, buddy?"

Cody followed my gaze and we both looked at Rex. You know those memes where its says (character's name).exe has stopped working?

This is Rex.exe has stopped working. The man literally stood like a statue, staring off into space. I looked to Cody, himself doing the same and I rose an eyebrow. "Should I do it?"

"Do what?"

"Smack him."

"What?! No! Don't smack him!"

Abbey beeped waddling from side to side to get my attention. "What?" Abbey beeped again, telling me to just snap my fingers until he notices. "What good is that gonna do?"

Abbey beeped again, almost sounding like a grumble and I rolled my eyes, walking up in front of Rex and snapping vigorously in front of his face. "Earth to Rex! Houston is calling you back!"

"Who's Houston?" Cody asked from behind me. I looked at him with an unamused face and shook my head. "I keep forgetting where I am. Its what they called our space research lab back home."

"Oh..makes sense."

I looked at Rex and tapped him on the forehead. "Wha..huh?"

"Okay, maybe smacking him would have been a bad idea." I said to Cody, watching as Cody lowered his gaze. "You were gonna let her smack me?!"

"No..vod, I wasn't."

"He wasn't. But, it was an idea at the time." I replied nonchalantly, Rex blinking in confusion. "Anyway, hi, Rex! How ya doing?"

Rex didn't reply, he was still processing what was going on. Poor child. However, it seemed like he snapped back into place when he looked behind me. I looked back, seeing Anakin and Ahsoka approaching and boy did Anakin look pissed.

"How are we looking, Rex?" Anakin said, upon reaching Rex and I. "Quiet for now, sir. They're gearing up for another attack." Rex looked at Ahsoka, and I knew immediately what was coming and looked to the ground smiling.

"Who's the youngling?" Rex asked. "I'm Master Skywalker's Padawan. The name's Ahsoka Tano."

"Sir, I thought you said you'd never have a Padawan." Rex said in uncertainty, while I looked up and at Ahsoka who had an eyebrow raised at me. "There's been a mix up the youngling isn't with me."

"Stop calling me that! You're stuck with me, Skyguy." Ahsoka joked with a smirk, making Anakin turn to her with an irritated look on his face. However, that didn't stop me and Rex and a few others from laughing at the remark, mainly me because I loved this scene so much.

"What did you just call me? Look, don't get snippy with me, little one. You know I don't even think you're old enough to be a Padawan!" Anakin argued, Ahsoka crossing her arms. "Maybe I'm not, but Master Yoda thinks I am."

"Well, you're not with Master Yoda now. So if you're ready, you better start proving it. Captain Rex will show you how respect goes a long way." Anakin said, my face turning red as I held in a laugh when I saw Rex's confused gaze travel from Anakin to Ahsoka.

"Uh..right. Uh, come with me, youngling." Rex said, quickly walking away while Ahsoka mumbled something under her breath. "Um..can you let Obi-Wan know I'll be with them?"

"Uh huh.." Anakin said, still looking annoyed. "Hey, Anakin. Just give Ahsoka a chance. She's not as bad as you think she is."
