Oh, my god,
we're back again,(Picture above is a quick art of me in Clone Wars style. I'll be showing more of my art style later on in the book. But for now, this is a reference. 👌🏽)
"Hey, Ahsoka!" I called, approaching the transport ship that Plo Koon had talked about in the training room with Abbey. "Hey! I didn't know you were coming!"
We exchanged a hug and entered onto the ship, myself letting Captain Felix know that we were ready and the back doors closed behind us.
Abbey greeted Ahsoka with a tap on her calf and a coo as Ahsoka patted her helm. "Hey, Abbey! Good to see you too!"
"Yep, I got Obi-Wan Kenobi as my new Master. You must have Anakin Skywalker." I said to her, though I already knew. "Yep. Last minute change though, but its okay."
"I'm nervous. Are you?" I asked, looking at anxiously. "To meet Master Skywalker, no. To fight in the field, definitely."
"Yeah. That's what I'm worried about. I mean, I've been training for seven months. The Masters say I'm ready, but..I feel like I'm not." I said, sighing heavily. "Well, just do everything you can. This will be your first time on the field and if you screw up, so what? Get back on your feet and keep moving."
In a way, I was glad I got to be friends with Ahsoka. She reminded me of a friend back home. She was always giving me good advice and being very supportive. It was a bit rocky the first time we met. Probably because of the whole "You knew my name, I'm a little creeped out by you" vibe. But eventually, I explained everything and we became acquaintances.
But now, we're technically best friends, if you think about it. We're watching each other's back, we stand up for each other, and we share common annoyance with the spoiled younglings back at the temple. It felt like I was home again, only....with spaceships.
We chatted on and on about how funny it was when we saw some of the kids yesterday practicing their combat skills and some just looked like they wanted to pass out. We laughed up a storm, not realizing we spooked the troopers until we heard,
"Uh..you two alright back there?"
"Oh, we're fine! Sorry!" I called back, both Ahsoka and I giggling afterwards. It was long before we were out of hyperspace and we saw the Jedi cruiser, the Defender, in view, along with another Jedi cruiser and a Separatist blockade fighting back against them.
"Strap in, you two! This is gonna be a bumpy ride!" Felix exclaimed, both of us grabbing our seats and strapping ourselves tightly into them. I looked to Ahsoka, who looked just as worried and terrified as I was, but I nodded to her, letting her know we'll be fine. I know because..duh! The TV show!
Abbey magnetized herself to the floor so that she wouldn't wheel all over the place. Smart droid, Abbey, smart droid. I wish humans could do that.
After a few bumps and swerves to try and avoid contact with the enemy and get out of the line of crossfire, the transport ship entered the atmosphere and Ahsoka and I both unbuckled ourselves.
"Um..remind me to put some extra armor on next time." I groaned out, rubbing my bare shoulder because it was hit a few times against the ship. "You're telling me.." Ahsoka replied, rubbing her neck.
"Heh..you okay, Abbey?" I asked looking back at my astromech to see her unmagnetize herself and wheel up beside me. She beeped, letting me know she's still ticking and I laughed when she did.
"Well, we're here. You ready?" I asked, not long after the ship landed. "No. You?"
"What do you think?" I asked with an eyebrow rose. Ahsoka shrugged, both of us watching as the back door opened and there they were. Anakin and Obi-Wan had just approached the transport ship and Ahsoka was the first to walk off the ship, making her way to them both, mainly Anakin.
Its been seven months and my appearance has changed a lot since then. I use to be a bit chubby back then, now I'm a bit thinner. I dyed my hair a few times, so before my hair use to be off black, now its dirty blonde, close to light brown, and in braids (thanks Padmé! Yes, I've met Padmé, too. Accidentally..😳).
And as I expected, Anakin and Obi-Wan didn't recognize me when I walked off the ship. They looked at me with a confused gaze on both of their faces.
"And you are..?"
"Um..a young girl who came from a different universe knowing basically everything about you guys and ended up having a strong mind? Yeah, I've seen her around." I replied with a smirk. Both of them looked to each other then back at me with a shocked look, probably couldn't believe I was standing right in front of them.
"Kayla? Wow! You've changed a lot!" Anakin said, shaking my hand. I shook it back, though he pulled it back slightly and rubbed it. "Woah! You got a grip there."
"Oh, sorry. I have firm hands." I apologized, smiling nervously and pulling my own hand back. "Its really great to see you guys again."
"And you as well, Kayla." Obi-Wan assured, shaking my hand as well. "Oh, this is Ahsoka. We were sent by Master Yoda because we hadn't heard from you."
"Oh, great! They don't even know we're in trouble." Ahsoka and I looked to each other, myself shrugging as we watched Anakin complain. "Yes, we have been having some communication related issues. We've been trying to contact the Temple for some time now."
Abbey beeped something and I jumped a bit when she did because I forgot she was beside me. Anakin looked down with wide eyes at my astromech.
"And who's this?"
"This is R4-AB. Or Abbey! She's my astromech!" I introduced excitedly while hugging my astromech. Abbey beeped nonchalantly, saying I was messing with her paint job and I tapped at her helm. "Hey! At least I take care of that paintjob! Anyway, Abbey said that we could see about getting a signal out or something."
"Right! What if you relay a signal from our transport ship to the cruiser? Maybe they can get a signal to the Temple?" Ahsoka asked, pointing back to the ship we just came from. Obi-Wan looked to Anakin, who just shrugged briefly and then turned back to us.
"Alright."
"Oh! Obi-Wan, have you seen Rex or Cody? Thought I go say hi, if that's okay.." I asked, and just as I did, I saw a sly grin on Anakin's face. "What?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Oh, nothing. They're at the outpost that way. Just follow those containers." Anakin instructed, pointing to the line of containers trailing to the left. "Oh, thanks. I'll be back. You'll be okay here, Ahsoka?"
"Yeah! Go ahead." Ahsoka replied with a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Okay. Abbey! Come on!"
