Two days.
Sunday avoided her friends for two days now. Stella and her are staying at the Hampton Inn and Suites.
Two days since she turned off her phone. Stella wondered why they never go out. Sunday just said that she was too tired and needs rest.
"I want to eat some nuggets, mum." Stella whined. Sunday groaned and stood up from the chair.
It's been two days now, anyway.
Sunday stretched her arms and shook her legs. "Okay. Fine. Let's go out."
It was 10 in the morning.
Sunday got dressed and also changed Stella's shirt. It was all dirty from the chocolate milk she just drank.
Triangle Town Centre was just a 22-minute drive. She wishes that the place is not packed. She would have to hide away again.
Yeah. So childish.
Stella grabbed Trim the Lion from the bed and held her mother's hand. They walked out of the room and went downstairs.
When the two of them reached the lobby, Rian was standing there. Sunday gasped and was about to turn around when Rian got a hold of her arm.
"Hey. Wait. Where the hell do you think you're going?" Rian snapped at her. Forming a big, fake smile, she faced Rian.
"I forgot something upstairs, right, Stella?"
Stella looked up and shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know."
Rian sighed and ran a hand on his hair. "What's up? Is there something wrong? Do you want to talk about it? The guys and I have been worried about you. The receptionist won't even tell us what room you're in."
Sunday looked straight. "I told them not to. Are you my best friend?"
"Of course I am. I've been here for 8 years with you, haven't I?" Rian exasperated. Rian leaned on the wall and waited for Sunday's response.
"If you truly are, you should know what is wrong." Sunday began walking with Stella.
Rian thought about it. On Sunday and Stella's first night at the cafe, Sunday's mood suddenly changed. She was not the clown of the group anymore. It's like she became distant.
That night, they talked about a lot of things. Unlike before, though, Sunday became quiet. She was not much of a talker now.
There must be something wrong. There must be something that I am missing . . . That night, Zack brought Holly.
Great! That's it. Now I know.
"You're jealous." Rian laughed. He caught the two waiting for a taxi.
Sunday stopped from looking around and frowned at Rian. "What? Jealous? What are you talking about?"
"You're jealous of Holly, Sunday." Rian snickered.
Sunday crossed her arms. "Why would I be jealous of her?"
"Because she is with Zack now, and you are afraid we will replace you with her. Sunday, you'll always be our Sunday. No one can ever replace you." Rian came forward and hugged his best friend.
Sunday sighed. "Fine. I am. I am scared. I mean, I live far away. I'm also replaceable."
Rian hugged her tighter. "You've thought wrong, then. For a minute there, I thought you were in love with Zack."
"Gross."
"I also know how jealous you get, Sunday. I just want to hear you say it. But, don't you like Holly?" Rian questions as they entered the taxi that stopped.
Sunday sat Stella on her lap. "I would if Stella isn't there, but she's here. I'm not ready for her to have another mother. I'm only one."
Rian sighed. "Sunday, no one's replacing you as her mother. I understand this phase of yours. It's okay."
"I just don't want to be with her or see her while Stella and I are still here. You can't just tell that to Zack without offending the fucker. I just don't want her close to my child. I mean, she's still a kid. She wouldn't understand." Sunday rolled her eyes.
"Like, she'll be confused. She'll be saying that she has two mothers! I don't like that. Yes, call me selfish but Stella is mine. My blood and Zack's." Sunday exclaimed. They later reached the shopping centre.
Rian nodded his head. "Of course, Sunday. I truly understand where this is coming from. Don't worry."
