The Truth

Chapter 15

"(Y/N)! Get up!" An excited voice screamed as someone shook me violently. I let out a groan, waving them away with my hands before snuggling closer into my covers. An agitated huff came from the person, before the sound of their footsteps fading away could be heard. I let out a sigh in relief, thinking I was now safe ... oh how wrong I was.

    Next thing I knew, something heavy landed right on top of me, knocking the air out of my lungs, my eyes snapping wide open. "What the - Tokyo!?" I questioned in surprise, my voice raised slightly.

    "C'mon! It's girls day!" Tokyo spoke cheerfully, a bright smile spreading across her features.

    I rubbed my eyes as I sat up, pushing Tokyo off me as I did so, "What time is it?" I questioned with a yawn, before lifting up my arms to stretch out my torso.

    Tokyo hummed in reply, looking over towards the electric alarm clock on my side table, "Eight o'clock." She answered as I released a groan, laying back down onto my bed grumbling under my breath as I snuggled under my covers. Tokyo huffed before grabbing my arm and dragging me out of the bed till I fell on the floor with a loud thump.

    The next thing I knew I was dressed, hair neatly brushed, and my breath having a minty smell. I rubbed my silver cuffs along my wrists as I followed Tokyo out of the castle after having to grab a quick breakfast. "Finally! We can have some well needed girl time." Tokyo exclaimed, wrapping her arm around my own as we walked side by side down the white cobblestone sidewalk.

    "Alright, how about we do a little bit of shopping!?" Tokyo questioned with an excited tone, smiling brightly as she looked up at me, her black eyes giving off a shine.

    I shrug, "That sounds fine to me, where do you want to go?" I ask, looking at the different shops as we walked further down the sidewalk, sleek cars zooming past us, while we walked over the bridge. Looking down to see the river moving calmly down the channel, some small canoes floating right under us.

    "Oooo, how about a candy shop?" She asked as her eyes locked onto a white building with a large sign on the front of it saying, "The Ocean's Sweets" in big dark blue letters, the O being in the shape of a wave.

    I licked my lips, "Sure why not." We walked into the shop, seeing all certain kinds of sweets, the smell of sugar and frosting reaching my nose, making my stomach growl. The store was split in half between hard candy and gummy candy, the mix of both types in the middle.

    Other customers looked in my direction, most held respect and congratulated me on my win while others held fear in their gaze. Tokyo snapped me out of my daze as she yanked me over towards the gummy side of the store, before grabbing a cup from next to the bowl of candy. I looked into the bowl seeing gummy sharks mixed in with gummy dolphins. Tokyo licked her lips as she used the tongs to put a few pieces of the candy into the cup before moving onto something else.

    I followed her around the store, not really finding any that I found interesting, I wasn't too much of a gummy fan unless sour was involved with the gummy. I caught something out of my eye as we walked into the hard candy side of the store, seeing something like sea glass except it was dusted in flour, the sign even said "Sea Glass Candy '' which made me wonder if this was Altanis's version of rock candy. I grabbed onto the tongs, as well as a cup, taking a few pieces of the sea glass candy and putting them in my cup with a small smile on my face.

"What are you getting- oooo~ Those look yummy too!" Tokyo exclaimed, her pupils dilating as she looked down at the sweets. I look over towards her arms noticing the five cups filled to the brim with candy.

"I ... think you have enough Tokyo." I say with a slight giggle while she pouted, but she didn't argue, since she really didn't have any more hands to even get some more candy. We walked up to the counter, before I noticed cake pops sitting behind the glass, my red eyes began to sparkle. My favorite! "Can I get a whole box of those please?" I asked the woman, pointing to the variety of cake pops.
