LISA
"Lisa, what the hell is this?", my girlfriend immediately asked me as soon as I step foot in the kitchen.
Deciding to play dumb, I answered her, "What do you mean?", giving her a cheeky smile in hopes that she would find me charming enough to not throw a knife at me.
"You know what I mean, Lisa", she said in such a cold voice that goosebumps immediately formed on my arms. I know that I should probably be fearing for my life at this point, but Jennie was looking at me with such captivating (but really, they were piercing through my soul) eyes that I couldn't help but drown in them. I guess that's how it is when you're in this deep with someone, you find love even in moments where you should be afraid.
Sensing that my girlfriend wasn't going to back down (not that she ever does, anyway) and call me cute and charming (not that she ever does, anyway), I decided to give in to her instead (I always do, anyway)
"It's for my video", I tried to break it down as slowly as I could, but Jennie wasn't taking my shit today.
"Your video!", she laughed humorlessly. "With Rosie and Jisoo!"
"Yes", I said, my voice starting to get small.
"Lisa, you invited Rosie and Jisoo to film a video where you ask them intimate questions about their past relationship!"
"You told me it was a good idea!"
Jennie widened her eyes almost comically, and I could swear that I saw a flash of something that just screamed "bloody murder" the moment I said those words.
"I didn't think you were serious!", she said as her hands went up in the air and her lungs heaved a deep sigh.
It was true though, she really did tell me she thought it was a good idea.
It all began a few weeks ago.
Jisoo and I went to hang out together. What was supposed to be a casual catch up over food and some drinks turned into a night we would regret in the morning. It started out so casually, a glass of wine for each of us and a plate of pasta each. It was all going well, until we suddenly found ourselves sitting in a pub drinking more beer than we can take.
"We're having a good time and we don't do this often", we tried to console ourselves. It was supposed to be two beers and that's it. But two beers became three, and then three became four, and the next thing you know, I was hugging the toilet in the pub while I puked my guts out.
I felt much better after that mess, feeling a little bit more like myself after vomiting everything I had for dinner. And probably lunch too.
I walked back to where Jisoo and I were sitting, to find her fiddling with her beer bottle. She looked so deep in thought, and I wondered if anything happened while I was gone. When she noticed my presence, she gave me a small smile, making me even more anxious than I already was. Was I really gone that long and did something really happen?
"You alright?", I asked her.
"Yeah, I was just... thinking"
"Penny for your thoughts, then?"
Jisoo shook her head, which is her signal for "I don't want to talk about it". I figured that given the fact that Jisoo wasn't itching to get out of that pub, nothing really happened and she just happened to be deep in thought. So I let her be. I watched Jisoo, who was seemingly lost in her own world as she slowly drank her bottle of beer. She does have moments where her mind just flies into a completely different dimension sometimes, so I didn't think much of it. I just decided to sober myself up by loading up on water.
