"Get your arse up!" Exclaimed angrily Ghaya Clarance as she tried to get Alexis to leave her bed.
Arleigh, on the other hand, had already brushed through her locks of light brown hair and put on her slytherin robes. She quickly bewitched her wand and her hair magically began braiding itself in a crown made of two braids.
"It's pointless, G" she giggled, "Alex will get up when she bloody wants to. Luck has it Umbridge loves her and won't enrage if she is late"
"Well, don't you have a point there?" Winked the green eyed and adjusted her green tie, "We shall go"
The two witches then trotted their way towards the Great Hall in order to have breakfast with the other fellow slytherins. While they were all eating, the toad-alike stood up from her spot at the teachers' table, clearing her throat to get everyone's attention.
Arleigh rolled her eyes as she shoved the last piece of her apple in her mouth.
"By order of the Ministry of Magic: Dolores Jane Umbridge will replace Albus Dumbledore as Head of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry" she announced
"Brilliant" whispered under her breath Leigh
"My first act as your new Headmistress is to form an Inquisitional Squad, lead by Draco Malfoy" continued the new Headmistress, "They will report directly to me about the goings on in the halls of this school"
A growl escaped the cobalt eyed witch's lips, making her best friend turn to face her with a concerned expression. Though Arleigh shrugged her shoulders in response, Ghaya stared at her for a few more moments, as if trying to understand if she could believe her or not. Soon after, Alexis made her entrance in the Great Hall and seated just opposite Leigh and the metamorphmagus.
"Good morning, sunshine" smirked the light brown haired and the green eyed suppressed a laugh.
"What did I miss?" Questioned the Zabini witch and took a bite of her toast.
"Simply Umbridge replacing Dumbledore" shrugged Ghaya
"And we are bloody surprised about it, aren't we?" Sarcastically remarked the Granger witch
Alex almost choked on her pumpkin juice as she heard the news.
"You can't possibly be serious-"
"As such, prepare yourselves to not be able to do anything other then studying" Leigh whined
"It's not like you do much else" winked the dark skinned witch and Arleigh threw a piece of food at her.
"That is untrue, Al" stated the Clarance girl, "She also hangs out with Potter, you can't honestly forget that!"
The muggleborn smacked the now yellow haired girl in the shoulder and grinned, while her roses nose flushed slightly.
"Shut your mouth!" She exclaimed
"Wait, am I missing something here?" Asked Alex, smirking
As Leigh was about to reply, a strong hand placed itself on her shoulder, making her turn around, even though she already knew who was it. Hagrid kindly smiled at her.
"Hello, Rub" greeted the witch
"Hi, there, Leigh" he muttered, "Do ya min' comin' find me later? Need to show ya somethin'"
"Of course"
And with that the half-giant walked away.Arleigh was making her way towards Hagrid's hut when she heard her name being called from behind her, and she therefore turned around. The Golden trio rushed towards her quickly.
"Hey, Leigh" smiled her cousin and the other two waved, grinning as well.
"You're going to Hagrid's as well, aren't you?" Muttered Harry and she nodded
"Indeed, he said he had to show me something"
"Sorry I can't come," apologized Ron, "Angelina would kill me if I missed Quidditch practice"
"Why aren't you going, Potter?" Confused Leigh
"Umbridge banned me and the twins because we started a fight with your other teammates" explained the chosen one
"Ehm...when exactly did that happen?"
"When you were kicking Malfoy out of the team" grinned the Weasley and she nodded, understanding.
Then he separated from the other trio, which made their way towards Hagrid's.
He was already waiting for them outside, with a worried and ecstatic look on his hairy face. He led them inside the Forbidden forest for what felt like ages.
"Hagrid.." began the bushy haired, "we've been walking for a good hour"
Trees became more and more thick and it even seemed it was turning dark outside.
"It's jus' up ahead, her'" hurried Rubeus
"Could you tell us at least what it is, please?" Pleaded Arleigh, "I truly loathe surprises"
"Alright" began the caretaker, "I'm showin' yeh this because tha' Umbridge woman put me on probation! I can' last much longer befo' I get sacked like Trelawney"
"We won't let her!" Exclaimed Hermione
"Bah." Sighed Hagrid, "'s not the end o' th' world. If I do, I'll go hel' Dumbledore, grea' man.."
Leigh slightly grinned at how much Hagrid actually admired their ex-Headmaster, but could you blame him? Albus was one of the few people who had always believed in the half-giant, since the very beginning. Arleigh herself admired the old wizard, though sometimes it seemed that he already knew something was going to happen but didn't try to stop it whatsoever.
"Anyway, I wouldn't tell yeh 'pect for tha'. I can' leave withou' makin' arraignments, see?" Continued Rubeus, "I'll need all yer help"
"Of course we'll help" offered a smile Harry, which was returned by everyone else.
"Knew yeh'd say yes!" He exclaimed and pated the boy's back, making him stumble slightly forward, "Now, real quiet fro' her' on"
After a few more moments, the hairy wizard stopped in his tracks and opened his arms wide in front of him with a big grin plastered on his dirty face. A massive figure lay just before their eyes, and Leigh recognized it immediately as a giant. Her eyes widened and eyed suspiciously Hagrid, who didn't even spare a glance her way.
"Hagrid, I thought none of them wanted to come!" Hermione rated her palms on her hips, staring at the giant.
"None o' them wanted to come! I didn' have much ruddy choice inna matter!" Uncomfortably explained Hagrid, "I couldn' leave 'im"
"Why not?" Knitted her eyebrows together Arleigh
"He's me brother!" Stated the half-giant, "Well, half-brother. Me mum had 'im befo' she died. Thought I could bring 'im back her' and teach 'im a bit o' manners"
Harry protectively stood before the two witches and the three of them watched as Hagrid approached his half-brother with a soft smile. The giant responded with a loud roar, making Leigh flinch and the raven haired boy quickly grinned her hand, trying to make her feel better.
"Look wha' I brough' yeh, Grawpy! Three new friends an' all." Happily murmured Rubeus, "We have Harry Potter her', see? And Hermy ther' and Leigh!"
"Leigh!!" Squealed Grawp and slurped himself forward, trying to reach out for the slytherin.
Even though Harry tried to stop it from happening, the giant took ahold of the cobalt eyed witch. However, Arleigh was strangely enough calm and she was eyeing daggers at Grawp.
"Grawp, you let me down this instant!" She ordered, pointing her index finger at him.
"Ehi, she said let go!" Worryingly yelled the boy who lived and his best friend gripped his robes before he could do anything.
Grawp reluctantly let the girl down gently and widely smiled at her.
"Bad boy, Grawpy!" Barked Hagrid
"It's alright, Rub, he obliged eventually" noted Leigh
Harry rushed to her side, concern showing itself in his eyes, "Are you alright?"
The younger Granger offered him a sheepish grin as butterflies spread in her stomach, though he didn't need to acknowledge that, did he now?
"Yeah, I'm alright" she hurried and turned her attention back to the giant.
"Anyways, all yeh need to do is go an' talk to 'im. Keep 'im a bit o' company" explained eventually Hagrid
"Yeah, we can do that" Hermione told him with a grin as she approached her cousin and linked their arms together before leading everyone out of the forest.
