Arleigh Granger was walking around the corridors of Hogwarts by herself when she heard the annoying voice Dolores Umbridge among others, which she did not recognize. Leigh hid in the first empty classroom she had found and watched as her professor and five others figures passed by, unfortunately she didn't get to understand what they were talking about, though it seemed rather important and urgent. Her curiosity took the best of her and she trailed after the group of adults, her wand was firm in her hand firmly, while she tried to be as quiet as possible.
Once the group exited the massive doors of the school, Arleigh stopped in her tracks, concern making its way to her as she realized where those guys were headed. Hagrid! She worryingly exclaimed.
In a few moments, those people reached his hut and banged on the wooden door, making the half giant exit. Spells began being thrown and aimed at the poor Rubeus as he tried to dodge them, even his dog Fang tried to help him by harassing one of the wizards.
Loud footsteps caught Leigh's attention and she surely hoped it was somebody who might've helped her.
"What is happening, Miss Granger?" Worried McGonagall, eyeing her student
"Th-they just began attacking him out of nowhere!" Explained Arleigh, "You have to stop them, Professor!"
Minerva gave her a soft grin before rushing to the scene and the cobalt eyed witch decided to do as well, she was not going to let them hurt Hagrid.
From the Astronomy tower, Ronald and Harry were watching the happening.
"Shit, Ron," cursed the boy who lived, "that's Leigh"
The ginger haired looked into the telescope and widened his eyes.
"What is she doing?!" He exclaimed
"I need to go there" muttered quickly Harry and gathered his belongings
"You are certainly not going anywhere, Potter" barked professor Tofty, glaring slightly at him
"But professor-"
"No buts, Potter"
"How dare you!" Angrily yelled Minerva, "How dare you!"
Seeing as nobody seemed to listen to her, she began running quickly towards the hut, with Leigh following suit.
"Stop this immediately!" Continued to yell the Transfiguration teacher
McGonagall drew her wand, for no one followed her orders, and narrowed her eyes at the attackers. Before she could even do anything, four out of six figures turn to her with their wands at the ready.
Arleigh stood before her professor protectively, "Protego!"
Numerous charms were thrown at them, though didn't even make neither of them flinch, thanks to her spell. Minerva thankfully smiled at her student and then pushed her behind her body.
"Enough!" She shouted.
This time, either of them got the time to do anything before three wizards stunned the Professor. McGonagall flew behind and landed harshly on the grass, not moving.
Arleigh gasped and rushed to her side, shaking her and trying to see if she was alright.
Another guy was about to cast another charm, but she was faster that time.
"Stupefy!" She yelled and the wizard flew backwards, knocking out another one.
The cobalt eyed honestly wanted to help her professor, but two more people turned to her and tried to stun her as well as Minerva.
Hagrid seemed to have taken advantage of the two guys down and fought back, using his inhuman strength of half giant.
"COWARDS!" He roared
"Get him!" Worryingly ordered Umbridge
A dude was just about to cast a spell on Rubeus, when Leigh took action again.
"Immobilus!" She chanted and the man turned still.
Hagrid turned to her for a split second before gripping his dog, fleeing him on his shoulder, and sprinting in the forest.
Students and teachers filled the surroundings and Arleigh let herself collapse on her knees, feeling completely drained out.
Two hands placed themselves on her shoulders, shaking her slightly, and her cobalt blue eyes met her cousin's brown orbs.
"Are you alright?" Worried Hermione
Leigh turned around and saw professor McGonagall being carried away and into the hospital wing.
"Y-yeah" she quickly replied and let her eyes wander a little more around, looking for the toad of a professor she had.
"Come on, Leigh," emphasized the bushy haired, grabbing her cousin's hands and helping her stand on her feet, "let's get you to the hospital"
"N-no no," shook her head the younger Granger, "where's Umbridge? Sh-she was right here!"
"She must've run away""Thank Merlin you're alright" sighed in relief Alexis as Hermione and Arleigh joined her and Ghaya by the entrance of the school.
"What were you even doing out there?" Questioned the metamorphmagus
"I was just trying to help" mumbled Leigh and rubbed her temples
"Get her to sleep, will you, please?" Demanded Hermione, gazing both Alex and Ghaya, who both nodded.
Then the frizzy haired turned to face her cousin with a warm grin on her lips.
"I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?"
"Alright" forced a smile Arleigh, "Goodnight, Herm"
Her cousin embraced her and placed a kiss on her head, before hurrying away and headed towards the Gryffindor tower.
The trio of slytherins then began walking towards their common room in the dungeons, however they were stopped again when Potter's voice rang in the air.
"Arleigh, wait!"
The three of them turned around and Ghaya smirked as her hair shifted to fair shade of yellow.
"We'll leave you two, then," she bit her lip, "we'll wait on the couch"
Both of Leigh's best friends then trotted away from the duo. While she stood there awkwardly, Harry shoved his hands in his pockets with a goofy grin.
"H-hey" he spoke and she glanced up to meet his eyes.
"Hi"
Harry felt his heartbeat racing in his chest and, for a moment there, feared Arleigh could hear it, like she always did whenever they were very close to one another. His lips curled upwards as he noticed her eyes sparkling like they used to; the moonlight shone on her features and he thought it made her look even more beautiful. His cheeks flushed and he took a step forward while he chewed on his lip.
"You got me a good scare there, Leigh" he found the courage to say, approaching her more.
Leigh forced a smile and took a step forward as well.
"Sorry," she murmured, "I just couldn't let them get Hagrid"
Harry took a deep shaky breath and stared into her blue eyes.
"S-seeing you out there...it made me realize how actually dangerous this..this w-whole situation is," he began, "a-and that anything could happen tomorrow"
Another breath shakily entered his nostrils and their bodies were now a few inches away from one another.
"C-correct" Leigh stuttered, forcing herself from not glance at his lips.
"And there's this one thing I want to do...before, you know, something actually happened" the chosen one looked quickly at her mouth, while she bit her bottom lip.
"Go on, then"
"Oh I will" he cockily grinned
Then, without any type of prior notice, Harry gently rested his hand on her lower back and the other on her cheek, pulling her to him, and he closed the gap between them afterwards.
Arleigh felt butterflies spreading in her stomach as she began kissing him back. He was actually kissing her. She smiled into the kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck, while his both moved to her hips and back.
After a few more moments, they pulled away and goofily grinned at each other.
"I've been wanting to do that in a while" he admitted
"Then, perhaps you should've done time ago"
Then Leigh pulled apart from him, missing immediately his warmth however, and smiled again.
"Goodnight, Harry"
"'Night, love"Leigh entered her common room with her face still flushed a crimson red and a cheesy grin plastered on her features.
Both Alex and Ghaya were waiting for her, like the second had earlier affirmed, on the green and silver couch. They immediately noticed her goofy expression and squealed loudly.
"My goodness," smiled the dark skinned witch, "is Arleigh Granger in love?"
Arleigh chuckled slightly, "I wouldn't exactly say in love"
"But you reeeeeeally fancy him, don't you?" Wiggled her dark brows Ghaya and the Granger nodded vigorously her head.
"You have to tell us everything!" Squealed again Alexis
And the three of them eventually spent the whole night talking and joking about how goofy the heartless ice queen was actually melting for a boy whomever she had almost never talked to before the previous year. However, none of them complained. Arleigh was really happy when she was with Harry and they were indeed happy as well.
"Your happiness is part of our happiness" Ghaya had confessed at some point to her best friend.
