Arleigh Granger, once she arrived at the slytherin common room, rushed in her bedroom and settled her things.
"Where have you been all night?" Spoke a voice, startling the Granger, who turned around
Ghaya was sitting on her bed with her legs crossed and reading a book, her hair was strangely a fair shade of blue.
"It's none of your business" muttered Leigh as she quickly changed into her pajamas.
The metamorphmagus hummed and put away her textbook, getting ready to sleep now.
"Were you waiting for me?" Suggested the blue eyed, gripping a piece of spare parchment, quill and ink.
"Honestly, Arleigh," sighed Ghaya, sitting straight up again, "simply because we don't talk doesn't mean I don't care"
Arleigh nodded her head and forced a grin, "I-I was at detention" she replied and walked out the room, ready to spend her night writing a letter to her family back home in the common room.
She adjusted herself on the couch, though she groaned when she remembered she had to medicate her injured hand. Therefore she stood up and trotted towards the restroom, then she hissed in pain when the alcohol hit her hand. She wrapped a bandage around it and jogged back on the green couch.
Dear Lynn,
Alexis, Ghaya and I argued and we are currently on not-speaking-terms, which isn't as bad as I first thought. Though I made a new friend, her name is Luna and she's very unique.
Potter and I got ourselves a week of detention because that toad of a professor is a complete twat.
This year is going to be the worst, I know it! I wish I were with you lot at home, I miss you.
I love you and say hi to mum and dad from me, yes? I'll let you know if anything more interesting happens!
Love,
LeighArleigh willingly avoided telling her family about what kind of detention it was, or why she got it. She hadn't spoken about the year prior to anyone outside the school, so she honestly couldn't tell them via letters.
She was so caught up in her head that she didn't even notice the presence on the opposite couch from her, her cobalt blue eyes looked up and met with his icy blue ones.
"Malfoy," she greeted, "to what do I owe the honor?"
Draco giggled slightly, "I simply couldn't sleep, seems you can't either"
"Sleeping is overestimated," she sighed, "I prefer staying awake these days"
Does Malfoy know about his father being a death eater? She asked herself, curiously.
"What happened to your hand?" He concerned and stood up, rushing to her side
Arleigh hissed in pain as she tucked her hand under her leg.
"I fell off my broom" she lied quickly
"Yeah, because you're bloody bad at flying" scoffed loudly the platinum blond
Leigh groaned and got up from the couch, "It's none of your business, Malfoy"
She decided to at least try to sleep that night, though she was pretty sure she wasn't going to succeed, for she had only slept peacefully when she was with Harry. Only that thought made her ears heat up, making her eyes widen again. Stupid, stupid, Potter! What is he doing to me?! She cursed and popped on her bed.Warm blood stained her hand and her desk as Leigh wrote on her piece of parchment the usual lines, which had sinked not only in her brain but in her skin as well. She wore an emotionless expression, not wanting to see Umbridge smirking at the sight of her defeat, she wasn't going to let that toad win.
After awhile, Dolores hummed and let the duo know that were done for the night.
"That's enough for tonight, let me see those hands" muttered the lady in pink, approaching the both of them.
She gripped into the light brown haired witch and examined her hand, which was more bloody than usual and Arleigh hoped that that one was the last night of detention, for she could no longer bare with that professor.
Then Umbridge reached out to grab Harry's hand, causing him to stumble back into his chair, pain crossing over him and mostly his scar. His hand rushed to his forehead, pressing on the lighting bolt, hoping it would ease his agony. The Granger was concerned about him so much that she stood up, broke the contact between the professor and the raven haired brutally. Potter felt a wave of lightness penetrating in him as he hit up, intertwined his hand with Leigh's and dragged her outside the hideous office.
"What the hell was that all about?!" Worried the girl, cupping his face with her hands and examining his scar
"Th-there's something wr-wrong with me, Leigh," mumbled Harry, pacing back and forth at the Astronomy tower.
They decided to always go there to calm their nerves after the hours of detention with Umbridge.
"Harry-"
"No! I-I keep having th-these dreams an-and wha-what if they have something to do with Voldemort's ne-next attack?" He cut her off, running an hand through his messy black hair
Arleigh sighed and approached him, resting her hand on his cheek gently, as if scared to break him even more. A soft grin placed itself on her lips and caressed his cheek again, sending chills down his back and calming him down a little.
"How is it that you always calm me down?" Smiled the boy who lived, causing her to chuckle slightly
"Is that so?" She smirked, "I believe I make you nervous as well, since you still fancy me"
Harry giggled as his cheeks flushed a fair crimson red.
"Of course you were to bring that up" he licked his lips.
"You didn't honestly think I was going to forget about it, did you, Potter?" Winked Leigh, gaining a wide cocky grin from the boy.
"Then, perhaps, you remember it so clearly because you fancy me"
Arleigh felt her heart flatter at those confident words escaping his thin lips, while her palms were becoming clammy, which never happened, expect when she had exams. Though it was for a complete different reason!
Her lips curled up slightly, "You wish"
Then she left him again, like the both of them ended up doing. Almost every time they went to that tower, it ended with one of them leaving the other stunned behind.
Leigh couldn't help the feeling of warmth spreading in her body, her teeth chewed into her bottom lip and rushed into her bedroom.
