Dear Arleigh,
I am sorry to inform you but you are most certainly not catching a cold, though I will not be telling you what is really going on because you need to figure it out yourself, you're clever and therefore you can do it. I hope I will be seeing you for at least Christmas in order to have a proper talk in person.
Hopefully, you didn't get yourself in more detention with the toad and neither did Harry. Both Padfoot and Moony said hi, by the way, and the first asked you to keep a close eye on his godson, for he's rather concerned about him. I'll see you soon, Leigh!
Love,
Metamorph
Arleigh Granger was sitting on a tree by herself at night, reading the letter Tonks had sent her that evening. That night was more terrifying for the young witch, for she had a lot more pressure on her shoulders. How was she supposed to be able to teach her mates something she herself didn't quite know a lot about? Harry was a lot more prepared than her, he even produced a Patronous a couple of times, Leigh didn't even know if she had a memory strong enough to produce one. She of course had been happy, that wasn't the actual issue, she simply didn't know if they were strong enough. What if she failed them? They already weren't that very happy about her being their teacher, if she even couldn't get anything done, it would be a disaster for her. She was too caught up with her thoughts that she didn't realize how late it actually was, or even better, how early it was, for the sun was starting to rise in the sky.
"You've got to be kidding me" she groaned and jumped off the branch of the tree she was previously on.
The bottle of sleeping potion Luna had given her was settled in her pocket protectively as she landed gracefully on the ground. Then she rushed to her common room and dorm in order to have a quick shower before going to breakfast that morning.A loud growl escaped Arleigh's lips as her eyes read what Umbridge had just put on an enormous billboard.
"By order of Hogwarts High Inquisitor: all student organizations, societies, teams, groups are henceforth disbanded. Permission of reform must be approved by High Inquisitor Umbridge."
Leigh refused to keep reading and stormed away, towards the Quidditch pitch, where she knew she could've relaxed a little by herself. What were they going to do now? I mean, it's not news for me to disobey the rules. A soft chuckle escaped her lips as she remembered how strict about rules her own cousin was. But, was it a coincidence that Umbridge added that rule to the billboard? Merlin, if somebody said anything, I'm going to hex him or her.Harry Potter was on his way towards his common room when he noticed Arleigh lying on the grass of the pitch, a goofy grin placed itself on his thin lips as he carefully dropped his pile of books on the ground and jogged to the girl. He seated just above her head, though she didn't notice him, for her big blue eyes were shut closed.
"You alright there?" He finally questioned after a few moments, causing the witch to quickly open her eyes.
"You scared the living hell out of me, Potter" narrowed her eyes Leigh, locking gaze with his.
"Sorry" he sheepishly apologized and rested his chin on his right palm
"I suppose you read what the toad ordered, yes?"
"Unfortunately" he sighed and lay on his back as well, his head just beside hers the opposite way around.
"You reckon somebody spilled?"
"I-I don't think so," Harry turned to face her, "plus, Hermione said she enchanted the parchment, we would've known about it"
"That sneaky bastard" she giggled and faced him as well, their face a few inches away from the other, which made heat raise to her cheeks.
He's going to see I'm blushing! She realized as she noticed how his glance travelled for a split second to her lips, making her blush even more and smirk.
"Meaning to kiss me, are you, Potter?" She winked and both of their faces shifted to crimson red
"You don't seem to be rejecting it" he cockily grinned and they both leaned in slightly.
No, no, no! Arleigh, you cannot fall for this boy, you don't do feelings! She cursed herself and then cleared her throat awkwardly, causing the both of them to turn their attention back around them.
Why did I actually want him to kiss me? She questioned herself
"I..ehm..I'll see you later, Harry" she smiled as she gathered her belongings, "I'll be at the library, most likely, in case you find a way of actually doing our DA lessons"
"Yeah, see you"Leigh jogged her way towards the Slytherin common room from the library with her backpack on her shoulders, it was late night and she was alone with her own thoughts. She couldn't shake off the feeing of warmth from her moment with Harry earlier, a grin placed itself on her lips as she remembered how he was actually about to kiss her. But, would it actually matter to him if they kissed? He was supposed to fancy Cho and Arleigh actually thought he did, yet again, why did she care so much about it?
Leigh had spent her whole afternoon finishing her homework and reading hundreds of pages in order to find a perfect place to teach DADA with the students of DA, a loud groan escaped her lips, though it was covered by the sudden sound of a gate opening. Her cobalt blue eyes travelled to the sound and she clapped her hands together when she realized what she had just found. The room of requirement, I found it! She smirked and quickly ran away from the scene.
Her feet dragged her towards the dungeons, though she stopped in her tracks when she heard Harry's voice and McGonagall's in the next corridor. The Granger quickly hid behind a column as her professor passed by and then she rushed to approach Potter.
"HARRY POTTER, YOU STOP RIGHT THERE!" she almost yelled in order to get the boy's attention.
As his big blue eyes met with hers, she felt her stomach twisting while something spread in it. Potter's lips curled up and he finally approached her, trying to hide his pinky cheeks while he remembered what had happened earlier that day.
"H-hi" he stuttered, "What are you doing here?"
Arleigh stood by his side as the two of them began walking again.
"I had just left from..ehm..the library, yeah," she awkwardly played with her fingers, "I just wanted to..ehm..tell you that I might have found the perfect place for..for the DA lessons"
The raven haired's eyes widened in content and surprise, while his arms immediately wrapped around the witch's figure.
"You're brilliant, Leigh, honestly" he mumbled, causing the girl to flush red, "Where is it?"
A smirk placed itself on her dry lips as she bit into her bottom lip.
"Follow me, Potter" she winked, gaining a goofy grin from him in return. The duo eventually arrived where Arleigh had previously found the room of requirement and she took a deep breath, thinking about how much they actually needed a place to teach the DA. A large gate appeared before their eyes, causing Leigh to squeal in excitement again and grin widely at her friend, who looked at her with his heart full of warmth.
"Come on, let's see inside!" She squealed again and gripped his hand, sending chills down her spine, dragging him inside with her.
The room inside was perfect for their DADA lessons, it had everything they would've needed to practice each and every spell.
"It's perfect, Leigh" smiled softly Harry, squeezing her hand in his, "It's better if we start before the holidays start, though"
"Yeah, it might be not the best of the ideas" chuckled slightly the witch.
