"Isn't it beautiful?" Softly exhaled Luna Lovegood as she patted the head of a baby Thestral, while Arleigh Granger was studying with her back against a tree.
"It truly is" muttered the older girl, not even looking up at her friend
"Shouldn't you be in class, Arleigh?" Grinned the blond
"I don't really care about History of Magic," exclaimed Leigh, "I honestly only need to finish this Astronomy essay and then I can leave"
A very beautiful owl flew its way towards the Granger and landed on her knee, holding own its claw in order to let her grip the letter attached to it.
"Thank you very much" smiled Arleigh and unfolded the envelope.
Dear Arleigh,
I heard that Dolores Umbridge is your new Defense against the dark arts teacher, she's most likely giving you an hard time.
Everything is completely calm here, expect for Podmore, he's got caught at the Ministry while trying to understand something more about the situation there with Malfoy. He sort of went looking for it!
Besides that, everything here at the Order is calm and bloody boring, hence please tell me something amusing.
I really hope everything is alright there and write me back as soon as you possibly can. You wouldn't want your only adult friend dying of boredom, now, would you?
Love,
Metamorph
p.s: Presumably you'll understand who is this from
Leigh grinned slightly at the letter, which she immediately understood was from Tonks. She was debating if it was a good idea to tell her about detention with the toad, though she was aiming towards a positive answer. She knew she could trust Tonks not to tell anyone else, mostly not Molly Weasley, who would most likely go crazy if she knew.Dear metamorph,
That toad of a professor is certainly giving me and Potter more than an hard time, she's literally torturing us. We...we sort of stood up to her and she gave us a week worth of detention, where she would make us use a charmed quill that wrote with our own blood. You can easily understand how painful it might've been, though I never let it be seen that I was hurting, not wanting to give Umbridge the satisfaction of breaking me, nor worrying Harry. Besides, it was rather amusing to mess with her.
I also read about what happened with Podmore, thought I'll be awaiting for your full explanation in person.
Merlin, please don't tell Mrs Weasley about detention with Umbridge, or she will go mad 100%.
As I was meaning to say, me and Potter are getting closer by the day and I really enjoy his company. But there's a problem, it happened that...a few times..when he would say something nice, I would flush slightly..or feel my heart skipping a beat. Do you think I'm catching a cold, because of all the nights I have spent at the Astronomy tower with him?
Write me as frequently as you want, I don't really mind.
Regards,
ArleighArleigh folded the letter and attached it again to the owl's claw. Then watched as it flew away.
"You seem tired, Arleigh," spoke Luna with a shy smile, "I can get you a sleeping potion, if you'd like"
Leigh smiled widely at the younger witch, stood up and rushed to her in order to embrace her little figure.
"Thank you, thank you, Luna!" She replied, "I owe you!"
The Lovegood witch chuckled slightly, overwhelmed by the affection was was getting, though she wasn't complaining at all, she had never had a friend and she loved finally having one.The two witches exchanged goodbyes and then Leigh jogged towards the library, for she forgot she also had to write an essay for Potions, which was next period, therefore she had to be extremely sneaky and fast. Her backpack was clinged into her nerved back as she trotted through all the corridors, a faded memory from her third year crossed her mind.
"Don't you seem to be struggling?" spoke an unknown voice as Arleigh was viguriously writing on her parchment
"I honestly am" she muttered and the boy seated beside her.
"May I?" he kindly suggested and Leigh passed him her paper
He took a look at it and quickly stood up, gripping one of his books and beginning to explain all about Herbology that might help the witch to her.
"I'm Cedric, by the way, Diggory" the wizard grinned, sticking his hand out for her to shake.
"Arleigh Granger" the blue eyed introduced herself, shaking his hand.
Leigh felt her eyes becoming glassy at that memory, her first meeting with Cedric. She silently sniffed and sat at one of the tables, putting her backpack beside her chair.
Why him? She had been asking that question for months and nobody had been able to give her an actual explanation, which was even more infuriating and unfair.
Her leg was bouncing up and down while her sane hand scribbled on the parchment, thank Merlin she was pretty good at Potions.
