After that night with Fred, we had become closer. He was more open about how he felt and I was too, even if it was painful, it helped me move on and for the both of us to become more focused. Fred trying to find a way to get his brother back and I, well, move on to better things.

The Quidditch Final would take place after the Easter Holidays so Wood had us training every single day for hours on end. Meanwhile, I found out that Hermione had dropped Divination, the day it happened I had been at the hospital wing for a migraine and to get some remedy for lack of sleep, ever since George and I... broke up? I had had trouble sleeping. Anyways, that day I asked for extra pudding and threw her a small party in the dorm, congratulating her on loosening up.

'ugh that Trelawney I just hate her guts' she blurted out, going pink in the face

'that's the spirit Granger' I laughed, she was so innocent

Despite having a short break, we still had piles of homework, Neville was incredibly overwhelmed so I took him out on walks whenever I had the time. He was fascinated by Herbology so these walks came in handy, he taught me more than the textbooks did so I didn't have to study as much for the subject. On the other hand, no one left for the break meaning that George and Olivia were around all the time. It hurt, I pretended to not care when they shared the Walkman or snuggled in the school yard in the nice weather. I managed to convince everyone (except Hermione, Ginny and Fred) that I had moved on.

The last day of the Easter holidays, Wood was a nervous wreck. The week would be starting on a Wednesday and the match was on that Saturday. Harry had even yelled at him for being so insistent on winning. That week his training routine was ruthless except for Friday, he didn't want to tire us so that on Saturday we would be at our best.

On Friday, the whole team was all shaky, no one paid attention in class, all our homework was sloppy or undone and even McGonagall was tense, giving us less homework in Transfiguration and muttering under her breath the importance of a Gryffindor win. An exact reflection of Wood.

That evening, we returned to the changing room after practice. We were all hushed while Oliver gave his last speech, it was his last training session with us and in the end, he had teared up.

'I'm so proud of having you all in my team' he finished off

We clapped appreciatively, also feeling emotional. Despite his strict attitude during practice, we had had our hilarious moments and I would definitely miss him next year.

TIME SKIP

Saturday morning rolled around eventually. I hadn't been able to sleep, not even with the brew that usually helped me fall asleep. I really hoped it wouldn't affect my performance but the adrenaline usually gave me an edge when playing.

During breakfast, we had received a great applause from both Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, obviously the Slytherins had to show their contempt. I wouldn't have cheered for them either. No one ate breakfast even if Oliver insisted (he didn't eat any either). I noticed that George was more talkative today, he was joking with Fred which made me feel legitimately happy for him, I hadn't seen him laugh like that in a while. Everything seemed to be going well this morning and hopefully the match would be great too.

Oliver rushed us out of the Great Hall just as quickly as one could say Quidditch. He pressed on about checking the weather conditions. He looked around the pitch while the rest paced uncertainly behind him, when the students began heading to the stands, Oliver commanded to head to the locker rooms, looking more tense than before. We all changed in a jittery silence, and the occasional drop of equipment made us all jump, once everyone was changed, Wood broke the silence,
