Chapter 25: Last day of term

The night George and I had made up, Harry had found out that Sirius Black was his godfather that had betrayed his parents and killed 12 muggles along with the Potter's safe keeper, who was a friend of Black's. For the last two weeks, along with homework and endless research, Hermione, Ron and I had tried to cheer Harry up. It was a bit difficult considering that Hermione and Ron couldn't stand each other and Harry would shut us out. Not even Quidditch practice made him happy. I felt like a useless friend, even if I had gone on long walks with him after class, he still wouldn't open up.

I hadn't also had the chance to go out on the many dates George had proposed to go on. I was always too busy with the overload of work. He was understanding though and would stay with Hermione and I in the common room until the late hours of the night. Worse yet, I had more homework mostly from Snape for Christmas, ruining most of my Christmas break here at Hogwarts.

Today was the last day of term, I had DADA and Muggle studies followed by two hours of study time. I was the first one up that morning, Hermione was still in deep slumber and I felt bad for shaking her awake.

'Hermione come onn' I complained, she wouldn't budge, her classes were clearly taking a toll on her

'just five more minutes' she groaned

'it's the last day Granger, that means that after this, you'll be allowed to wake up at whatever time you want to' I tried saying in order to encourage her to get out of bed

This seemed to have made her more awake and finally, after another five minutes she stepped off the bed.

'I took out your robes out and everything, they're in the bathroom' I told her while I packed my bag

'thanks y/n' she said drowsily 

I don't know how she managed to shower and change so quickly considering she was half-asleep when she got off the bed but now she was more energised. 

'what the hell did you take in there?' asked Ginny, genuinely perplexed 

'I took a cold shower, I do it every morning' she said simply

'Hermione, it's literally 3 degrees bellow zero' I said stunned 

'It just helps' she continued explaining 'plus I realised I have to finish off translating a few Ancient Runes before class'

'But we have Muggle studies' I said, feeling confused

'well I do take a lot of classes' she started, staring into space 'but that's not the problem, we have to get down for breakfast and I need to finish this off before second period' she said, snapping back to reality

She left the dorm in a rush while I was still pulling my bag over my shoulder. I could hear Ginny mutter 'crazy'. We left the dorm together and once in the common room she met with her other friends. 

'morning darling' whispered his voice in my ear

'shit' I gasped 'George!'

'so no good morning, I missed you, it's lovely to see you' he said sarcastically

'good morning George' I said seriously but then giving him a kiss when he frowned

'Edwards, I know you're always busy but I know that you have two free periods after lunch-'

'study periods' I corrected him but still giving him smirk

'right' he said,

'well I also happen to have two study periods at the same time so I suppose you'll be meeting me in the school yard?' he concluded, giving me a wink
