Chapter 4: meeting the Weasley twins

A/N: if anyone is reading this lol and has any suggestions or any comments on the previous chapters just let me know! I hope you guys are enjoying it as much as I enjoy writing it!

Also I made some changes to the plot of the OG story just so the timeline is a bit more cramped and it goes faster in a way.

I woke up the next morning to the sound of a commotion downstairs. Before getting changed though my dad had left another letter saying he had left earlier in the morning and that hopefully we would be able to catch up tonight.

yeah right, 'hopefully' I grunted

I put on the same outfit as I did yesterday and tied my hair in a pony tail. The noise downstairs grew louder as I approached the bottom floor. I could hear some 'how did you not get expelled!', 'I spent my Summer in Egypt'. I figured it was Hermione and Ron, Harry's friends.

'y/n you woke up, come meet Hermione and Ron, I told them all about you!' Harry said
'lovely to meet you guys! I'm y/n Edwards and Harry told me all about you guys too!'
Hermione and Ron exchanged glances and greeted me shyly
'So y/n, is it true that you made your professors dorm slippery?' Hermione asked innocently 

'oh yeah, she made fun of my muggle mum that died when I was born so I got my sweet revenge'
'Bloody hell' exclaimed Ron 'Serves her right'
'Ronald!' cried Hermione
I let out a laugh and we all sat around the wooden table, where we interchanged stories about our schools and our Summer holidays.

It wasn't until I was interrupted in a conversation with Hermione about Muggle studies, where I met two of the tallest twins I had seen in my life.
'y/n is it?' said one of them
'um yeah' I said flustered 'who is who because you two are identical'
'I'm Fred' said the boy with the shorter face
'And I'm George' said the other twin that had a longer face
'A little birdie told us that you pulled some pranks in your old school eh' said George
'you got that right' I said proudly
'You might be interested then, with pulling pranks with us, trust me' said Fred
'We never get in trouble' the twins chortled in unison
'y/n, I would be wary of them, they are such troublemakers and if you make it to Gryffindor we can't afford to lose many points because of their lousy pranks' warned Hermione
'thank you for worrying Hermione but what's the fun in school without being a bit rebellious' I replied
'that's the spirit Edwards' said George
Which made Fred and I laugh. They seemed really fun and I bet they would make really good friends.

The twins introduced me to Mr. and Mrs Weasley. Mr Weasley recognized my last name
'ah yes! Edwards, your father works in the Ministry alongside me, he's a great fella-' said Mr Weasley
'now, now Arthur, don't bore y/n with Ministry business' interrupted Mrs. Weasley 'It's a pleasure to meet you y/n, you can call me Molly and I've seen you've already met my sons, don't let their pranks fool you' she laughed
'don't worry Mrs. Weasley, I always give people what they deserve' I announced

The twins exchanged amused looks before heading back to the breakfast table.
'it was lovely to meet you both' I said sweetly
'oh you're such a sweetheart' said Mrs. Weasley 'please keep an eye out on Fred and George, I've had enough trouble with them in the past' she said quietly

I headed back to the table, where I met the youngest of the Weasley's, Ginny, she told me all about her dream of joining the Quidditch team and how she excited she was to return Hogwarts.

'We still need to get our books for the year' announced Hermione
'Right well, we should probably get going. Y/n, you want to coming with?' asked Harry
'sure! I got my books yesterday but I don't mind hanging out with you lot'
'great!' Hermione said pleased. I think she was excited that there was another girl her age in the group.
