Chapter 17-Different

Zelda

Zelda tried her best to catch up to Eleanor in the distance, she followed along gracefully while her long dress flowed with her. Her and Link eventually caught up with Eleanor and Zelda walked beside her with Link, as usual he followed close behind, but not in a privacy-invading way.
And so, they all walked close together as Eleanor led the way. Zelda...and probably Link too, didn't know where she was leading them yet..and couldn't help but wonder where to.
Zelda usually had things planned out for the day beforehand, but this time...it was different. Just like this whole week. It was...different.

She didn't know what to expect, even if Eleanor just came for a little chat, Zelda couldn't help the rush of excitement run through her body. Usually she'd have a long day of the same thing, over and over again. And none of it was exciting. Only sometimes it was a little exciting, but only on very rare occasions or if she decided to do research...which was known to her as 'slacking'.

She knew that she had to attend her duties at some point.
Even thought she only took a day or so of relaxing...She came to the conclusion that for this whole week...she just wanted to relax, or even just for the time being.
It was very stressful for her from the very start of the week with all these new changes...that she somehow had to adjust to, but she knew she had no
word in anything.

But again, she found that this day...and this whole week...was different to her from the rest- and for obvious reasons.
She never thought this much about relaxing until this week. And she was never like this. This sudden feeling she felt, and along with other new ones... It was quite odd to her. Because it was all quite different.

She couldn't help but feel selfish for feeling this way. But she really tried to ignore these negative thoughts for the time being. I mean, she was just hanging out with her friend that she hadn't seen in ages.

Zelda still couldn't help but gently smile to herself as her thoughts changed to the day ahead. Whether it was out of happiness, relief or excitement...It didn't matter. She didn't even realise her smile, and when she did, the slight smile was forcefully removed.

Taking a deep sigh, she then glanced at Eleanor as they walked through the halls. Eleanor cleared her throat to finally speak. She did owe them an explanation of course.

"Well. Incase you were wondering...I just wanted to come to check up on you, and hang out with you... Like I said before, I wasn't informed very well about these sudden changes...but again, I'd like to have a fun day out with you..."

Zelda instantly knew what she was referring to. She didn't want to answer but she knew Eleanor wouldn't ask that much anyway...because it was clear she had already started to change the topic about the day ahead, and they'd probably talk about it another time.

Zelda knew Eleanor's intentions were pure and she knew that Eleanor was aware that obviously, all these questions would come to her at some point, mainly about how she's feeling with these 'changes'.
Many people wanted to 'check up on her' already, so it would be very stressful for Zelda. So, this 'fun day out' would be to get her mind off things.

She thought that maybe it seemed too selfish and ungrateful to not want these questions asked at the moment. But she knew Eleanor didn't ask much because she wouldn't want her to keep focusing on her struggles...which was very thoughtful of her. She also knew that Zelda didn't want to appear as weak.

Eleanor opened her mouth to continue what she was saying but she stopped for a moment before doing so. She slightly glanced at Zelda beside her as she spoke.
"I just wanted to spend time with you, and do it before this masquerade that your father was informing me about earlier. So I decided to visit you as soon as possible so we could talk about things. But a masquerade sounds fun right?"
