FAR INTO THE HOURS OF THE NIGHT, VEDA WAS HOSTING HER CLOSEST FRIENDS OVER AT HER HOUSE.Micah Sanders and Kacey Wolffe. She had know them both since freshmen year, when the three had become inseparable. Currently, they were hanging out in Veda's spacious basement. Kacey and Veda were playing ping pong while Micah watched sleepily from the sectional couch.
Chatting and simultaneously hitting the ball back and forth, the topic of Veda's online friends had come up.
"I still can't get over that fact that you're becoming a damn streamer," Micah muttered, half asleep. Their head was resting on the arm of the couch, eyes traveling from side to side of the ongoing match between their friends.
"Neither can I. Genuinely still in disbelief. I just wanted to be a physical therapist man, but I'm really happy streaming—so I don't plan on stopping," Veda replied, deeply focused on winning.
Kacey then spoke up, "My girlfriend is actually a fan of Dream. She has yet to put together that you are the Veda he's friends with. Speaking of which, how is that?"
"Same as always. I mean, back in middle school, they were all like my best friends. Mainly Sapnap and Dream, but still. I missed them, and we're good as new now that we're talking again."
"What about the others? Like Karl and them?"
"Oh, well they're becoming my good friends too! Especially Quackity and Punz, they are literally hilarious." Veda won another point, looking over to Micah while she responded.
"Ok, I gotta ask. Do you know what Dream looks like?"
Veda scoffed at Kacey's words. "No, I don't. I saw him when we were like, thirteen, but he's twenty-one now."
"That counts, honestly. I mean some of the others are cute, I'm not gonna lie," Micah teased. They rolled over, standing up to get a water from the mini fridge.
"Oh yeah?" Veda smirked. "Like who?"
"George is pretty cute. And Sapnap. And the other one...shit, what's his name?"
"Describe him, I'll know who you're talking about."
"He's the one people say is like a furry."
Veda busted out laughing, doubling over the table. Her laugh was nearly as contagious as Dream's. "You mean Fundy?"
"Yeah! Fundy!" Micah giggled alongside their friend.
