Okay, so why is it when something's popular, the fanbase is constantly bashed or hated on for liking it? Like, hating popular thing isn't a personality. I'm in the Hamilton fandom, my friend is in the Billie Eilish fandom. Hamilton fans are only seen as cringy twelve year olds and toxic shippers, and Billie Eilish fans are seen as fourteen year olds faking mental illnesses. There are certain people like that in those fandoms, but that's not everyone. Yes, there are a lot of toxic Hamilton fans, but that's not everyone. You can like something that's popular, you can dislike something that's popular, but you can't hate people who enjoy popular stuff. Stop shaming people who like popular things. That doesn't make you cool and quirky.
