I honestly feel like the Hamilton fandom does a really bad job at portraying John Laurens. His only personality that's given is being gay and obsessed with turtles. That's it. Like can y'all please give him more personality? I don't mind if you make him gay, just don't make that his only trait. The terrible job this fandom does at portraying him made me lose interest in him. I don't include him in fanfics much because I don't have a lot to work with as far as personality goes, and I'm also not a Lams shipper. I also have no clue why everyone thinks the "me, I died for him" is about him. Just because he's in character as John for act 1 doesn't mean it's about him. I mean we all know that during the "me, I loved him" Jazzy was meant to be only Maria, so why doesn't anyone realize that Anthony is probably only Philip? Like this is probably the worst job I've ever seen a fandom do at portraying a character. Please do better, I'm sure you can give him a better personality.
