*Josephine's POV*
I sighed as I looked at the clock. I was running late to school. I quickly looked at the mirror. When I was satisfied with my appearance, I took my bag and sprinted towards the kitchen.
I saw my mom sitting at the table with Cherry, talking. Cherry was waiting for me to get ready. "Oh finally!" she chuckled and I rolled my eyes at her. I kissed my mom goodbye and headed out with my sister.
Let me introduce myself. I'm Josephine Valance. I'm the spontaneous, smart, savage soc. However, I didn't like the label "soc". I didn't feel proud of it. It made me even sick. People label you according to how rich you are, which is pretty cliché.
I always believed in that people are just all the same after all, we all lived the same miserable life, in different conditions.
I checked my bag one more time to check if I forgot something. I was relieved because surprisingly, I got everything I needed with me. Normally, I'm not someone who's clumsy or forgetful. These days, things were kind of rushed.
"Do you have anything planned for tonight?" Cherry asked, looking at me. I thought for a second. "Nope, I don't think so... I'll probably study or something." I didn't have much to do. Cherry hummed as we finally made it to the school and went to our lockers.
"I'm going to the Nightly Double with Marcia, Bob and Randy. You can come with us, it could be fun, y'know." I nodded. "Yeah, I'll consider it. I'll probably need to finish my homework."
I closed my locker and when Cherry opened her mouth to say something, the bell rang. "Well, see you Jo!" I smiled at her. "Bye, Cher" I made it to my class. It was Biology, it's going to be a long one, I thought.
* * * * *
My classes were finished and I looked for Cherry but I couldn't find her. She was probably with her boyfriend, Bob. I decided to walk home by myself. The weather was a little chilly. I wished I brought a coat or a jacket with me. Perks of being rushed.
I heaved a sigh and wrapped my arms around myself. Our house wasn't far away from school, thank God.
When I was walking in the streets, I thought to myself. How are greasers like? Are they the same as we see them? Are they actually innocent and we're putting labels on them just because of their money? I never knew. I knew that they were mostly trouble but I didn't know all of the greasers.
I knew some of them. I knew about Sodapop. Of course, I knew him. He worked at the DX but I didn't talk to him that much. At school, everyone heard of his name even though they didn't meet him. Every girl was drooling over him and they told me once or twice about him. I didn't really care.
I also heard about Dallas Winston. I didn't see him around but I heard he was dangerous. People said he was trouble.
Deeply in my thoughts, I finally made it to the place. I unlocked the door and got in. No one was home. I went to my bedroom and put my bag on my chair. I laid on the bed for a little bit.
I felt exhausted, but not because I was tired but because I needed to ease a little bit. Yes, I should go out with Cherry and the others.
I changed to some comfortable clothes and sat at my desk, trying to concentrate on my homework so I could finish it sooner.

Fanfiction"Judge me and I'll prove you wrong." Could a greaser as reckless as Dallas and soc as spontaneous as Josephine get along? All rights to the author of the book "The Outsiders", S.E. Hinton. I don't own anything from her story.
