"You did good, kid. I was impressed." I looked at Daniel sadly, holding my hands together. The doctor left, along with the refs.
"Daniel, you did so well." I said, holding his shoulder gently. Butch had kicked his knee in, resulting in damage that would take a while to heal. "If they hadn't cheated, you would've won." I said, softly. Daniel didn't respond, pressing his palms into his eyes.
"I'm so proud of you Daniel." Lucielle said, standing beside Daniel.
"Can you please go. Please?" I squeezed Daniel's shoulder gently, before walking out of the area, waiting outside. A flash of anger filled my body as I heard a voice.
"Looks like the kid couldn't take it, huh." Kreese said with a laugh. I glared at him, standing in front of him as he stopped.
"You cheated. Because you're afraid. You knew that if you hadn't told Butch to kick in his knee, he'd be facing Johnny, and you'd lose." I spat, narrowing my eyes. Kreese looked amused, his arms crossed as he chuckled.
"I warned you sweetheart. No mercy." Kreese looked past me with a smirk as the announcer called up Cobra Kai. "I've got to go, they're calling us up." He walked away as I glared at him, biting my tongue as I walked back into the locker room.
Daniel was standing, although he looked awful he was at least standing. "What's going on?" I asked, walking over.
"I'm gonna fight." Daniel said, balancing on his good leg.
"Are you serious." Daniel nodded, taking a deep breath.
"I'm either gonna fight, or die trying." My eyes widened a little before taking a deep breath.
"Alright, I'll go let them know." I said, running out of the locker room. I ran as quick as I could onto the mat as the announcer was about to give Johnny the trophy. "Hey, wait!" I exclaimed, tapping the announcer. He turned with a raised eyebrow.
"Daniel LaRusso's gonna fight." I said, quickly. The announcer looked surprised as he held the trophy away from Johnny.
"LaRusso's gonna fight?" I nodded as the crowd erupted in murmurs and confusion, and the announcer turned around.
"Daniel LaRusso's gonna fight!" He shouted into his mic as Daniel limped into the arena. I looked at Kreese, who was glaring at both Daniel and I. I gave him a smirk before running off the mat to Daniel.
"You've got this Daniel, just focus." Daniel nodded as he limped onto the mat, facing Johnny. I sat next to Lucielle at the bleachers, watching the beginning of the match anxiously. To me, the room seemed almost silent, but I knew that there were cheers and whistles as both Johnny and Daniel bowed at the ref before bowing to each other.
The two settled into their fighting stance, Daniel still being careful with his leg as the ref started the fight. Without a warning, Johnny ran at Daniel, jumping into the air as he attempted to kick Daniel. Daniel moved just in time, readjusting his stance to prepare.
Johnny turned quickly, facing Daniel and throwing a kick at him. Daniel blocked again, backing up as Johnny continued to strike. Daniel blocked his strikes quickly and effortlessly. The stood at the end of the mat as Daniel was able to strike Johnny in the chest.
"Point!" The ref yelled, stopping the match. Johnny shoved Daniel angrily as they reset their stances. "One point LaRusso!" The ref called over the cheers. I clapped, staying quiet as my heart pounded. I saw Johnny mutter something to Daniel, but I ignored it as he was probably threatening him.
"You got this Daniel!" I called, staying seated. Daniel and Johnny prepared their fighting stances again before the ref started the match. Johnny lunged at Daniel, swinging his fist and narrowly missing his chest.
