(He's so freaking cute, I mean seriously 😭 I want the 80's)

The next day, I found Daniel in the cafeteria, buying lunch. I walked over to him as he began to look for a spot. "Hi." Daniel looked at me with a smile.

"Hello Marie with an e. How are you doing?" I shrugged, following him past some tables as I brushed a strand of my bright red hair behind my ear.

"I'm doing ok. How have you been enjoying the valley, besides school?" Daniel though for a moment, before answering.

    "It's not dull." He shrugged.

"Was Newark dull." I asked, tilting my head. Daniel shrugged, before smiling a bit.

"You sitting with anyone?" I shrugged, looking at him.

"You, if that's ok." Daniel smiled, looking at me. "I'm still sorry about soccer tryouts.

"There are the breaks. Not your fault." I looked at him, chewing my lip.

"It kinda is. You remember the guy you had trouble with on the beach, Johnny?" Daniel raised an eyebrow.

"King Karate?" I nodded, taking a deep breath before continuing.

"He's...my ex-boyfriend." Daniel stopped in his tracks, making me hesitate. He tilted his head, as if listening to someone.

"I know. I know. You're right." I raised an eyebrow, looking at him.

"What was that all about?" I asked, smiling strangely.

"It's this little voice...gives me advice." I looked at him curiously.

"What did it say?" I asked, watching him.

"That I've got to be some kind of coconut to pursue this." I looked him in the eyes.

    "It's over."

    "How over?" He asked.

"Weeks." I responded, beginning to pull him over to two empty chairs.

"Weeks? One week? Two weeks? What's weeks?" He followed behind me as I let his arm go.

We made it to the chairs, and as we sat down, there was an audible squish under Daniel. He shot up, and I looked to see a blueberry pie that wasn't there when Daniel first get to his chair. I looked up and saw Johnny and his friends, laughing hard.

"You jerk.' I snapped angrily. Daniel seemed strangely calm, which was more frightening than anyone being angry, as he walked over to Johnny.

"Don't even think about it, worm." Daniel whipped some of the blueberry goo from his pants and whipped it onto Johnny's shirt. Johnny stared at the mess for a second before lunging at Daniel.

"Johnny, stop it!" Mayhem erupted as several boys jumped in to stop them.

    3rd POV

Daniel looked at a large dojo, excited. He walked right in, missing the large sign above reading: Cobra Kai. He walked in, entering a room filled with trophies all reading different names. As he entered, he saw the dojo filled with fifteen students ranging from white belts to black belts.

On the back of their gi's is the dojo's emblem: A hooded cobra rising ominously over a clenched fist. The students had their backs to Daniel and the door, kneeling on the ground in front of their sensi.

Suddenly, the students hop to their heels, the sound making the floor vibrate. Their body's obscure Daniel and Johnny from looking at each other. "Rei!" Johnny shouted, making the class bow. Johnny looked up, making eye contact with Johnny. A student blocked the view of the Daniel from Johnny, giving Daniel the chance to dart out of the dojo. As Johnny looked up, he noticed Daniel was gone. The slightest trace of a smile crept onto Johnny's face.

    *Later*
Daniel sat at a table, playing with his food before pushing it away. Lucille sat down enthusiastically in front of him. "Guess what? I'm going to be trained as a manager? Isn't that great?" Daniel nodded, enthusiastically.

    "Yeah." Lucille smiled, continuing.

"They have this program: Two nights a week.  As soon as a spot opens you're in. And the benefits? They pay for everything." Daniel nodded again.

"Great." Lucille furrowed her eyebrows, confused.

"What's the matter, Dan?" Daniel shrugged.

"Nothing." He lied, staring at his plate.

"You remember that time when you went camping over the summer? And you hated it because you had no friends? What happened?" Daniel looked at her.

"I got poison-ivy." He deadpanned. Lucille shook her head with a smile.

"You ended up meeting Kevin and Kenny, who became your best friends in the world, and the three of you didn't want to come home when it was time. You've got to give it a try, Daniel. It's not easy, but we're not quitters either, are we?" Daniel smiled a little, nodding.

"I guess not." He said, shrugging.

"And what's with the girl situation?" Daniel shrugged again.

"Just okay? To me it looks like the whole world went blond. You got an eye for anybody?" Daniel shrugged, but a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. Lucille smiled, her suspicions correct. "Cute? Blonde?" She wiggled her eyebrows, making Daniel smile again.

"Not blonde. She has red hair...not cute...exactly but.." He was interrupted by the manager coming over.

"Here they come." Lucille stood up, returning back to work.

"You'll tell me later. I love you, careful how you ride home." Lucille kissed Daniel's check before returning to work. Daniel sat with a small smile, thinking about Marie.

"Beyond cute." He smiled, before continuing to eat. What he didn't notice was Johnny and a few Cobra Kai's across the street, looking at him with a laugh before running off, plotting.
