I stood with Ali, playing around with a soccer ball. "How was Daniel and your date?" She asked, raising an eyebrow with a smile.

"It was really fun. We went to Golf and Stuff. FYI, he sucks at minigolf." Ali laughed, kicking the ball past me. "You missed." I laughed, placing my hands on my hips.

"No I didn't." I smiled, shaking my head as I ran over to the ball, my eyes landing on Daniel.

"Hey." I smiled, running over to him.

"Hey! I've been looking for you." I smiled holding the ball under my arm.

"Oh really? What for?" I asked, tilting my head.'

"I was asking if you wanted to go out on Saturday." I gave him a soft smile.

"The Mills invited me and my mom to their country club." Daniel's face seems to drop a little. "Why don't you pick me up around 9 outside?" I smiled, raising an eyebrow.

Daniel smiled again, excited. "Sounds good." He replied.

"Great. I'll see you later, then." I smiled, kissing his cheek. I set the ball down and began kicking it over, waving goodbye to Daniel before I was stopped.

"Hi Marie." I paused, blinking slightly at Johnny's voice as I stopped.

"Hi Johnny." I replied, kicking the ball over to Ali.

"So, what'd he say?" I rolled my eyes with a smile.

"He's picking me up at 9 from the country club on Saturday." I replied, excited.

"Good for you! You two are really cute." I shook my head at her.

"You're funny." I smiled, laughing a bit.

"I'm serious! You're adorable." I kicked the ball to her, smiling wider.

"I really appreciate it. You and James are really cute too." Ali smiled, continuing to kick the ball over to me.

"Are you ready to go?" My mom called from the living room. I set my hairbrush down, fixing my hair before standing up and walking to my door. I took a deep breath, pressing down the purple fabric of my dress.

"Do I look okay?" I asked, leaving my room. My mother looked up before smiling, looking at the dress.

"You look so beautiful." I smiled, rubbing my neck awkwardly.

"Thanks mom. You look really good." She smiled, patting my head.

"Thank you. Alright, let's get going we don't wanna be late." I smiled, following her out the front door, down the stairs and to the car.

I sat at a table, checking my watch every few seconds anxiously. "Hey, why don't you come dance with me." I looked up and smiled at my mom, standing up.

"Alright." We walked to one side of the room, and danced a bit, although I kept checking my watch.

"You got any plans?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, I'm leaving at 9 to meet up with Daniel." She tilted her head.

"The boy next door?" I looked away a bit, holding back a groan as I saw Johnny sit in a chair and look at me.

"Yes, the boy next door." I replied, looking back at my mother. "He's really nice, and you never know what someone's going to turn out to be." She took a deep breath before smiling.

"I guess you're right, Just, remember what we talked about." I opened my mouth to respond, when I was interrupted.

"Alright, Marie, you've held up your mother long enough." I looked at Mr Harris, stepping back to allow him to have my mother.

"Just think about it." My mother called, leaving with Mr Harris. I stood alone, checking my watch before beginning to walk outside, stopped when I felt someone grab my wrist.

"Hey." I clenched my jaw, uncomfortable as Johnny tried getting me to dance.

"Hi. Listen, I've gotta get going." I said, trying to pull away.

"Just finish the dance, please?" I sighed, annoyed but I danced anyway, my face blank.

"I was thinking we could call a truce." I rolled my eyes.

"I'm not in a war. You started this." I replied, my fist's clenched.

"Just, calm down." I threw him a glare.

"I am calm. I'm also angry." Johnny was quiet as I looked away, over at the music players, practically begging them to finish quicker.

Suddenly, I felt Johnny grab my face, pressing his lips to mine. I fought back, hitting him as I pushed away from him. "Never do that again." I snapped, filled with anger. Suddenly, there was a loud crash from the kitchen, making me turn.

Daniel was on the ground, covered in spaghetti sauce. His face was a mix of confusion and anger, but also hurt. Everyone besides me broke out into laughter, including Johnny. I would've cried, but I was filled with anger while I looked at Johnny.

I clenched my fist before sending it into Johnny's face. "I hate you. Never do that again." I snapped, shaking my fist. Daniel was gone, as I ran out of the club. I couldn't see Daniel or anyway of finding him, making me groan.

Tears filled my eyes as I sat down on the steps, tears running down my face. "Marie!" I heard Ali's voice, but couldn't be bothered to look up. "Marie, I'm so sorry." I felt Ali hug me as I kept my face in my hands.

"I can't believe Johnny would do that." I said, wiping my tears away as they continued to pour out of my eyes. Ali rubbed my back, staying silent. "I can't believe Daniel was there too. He's gonna be so upset."

"Daniel's a good guy. I'm sure if you explain what happened he'll understand." I was quiet, wiping away more tears. "How's your hand?"

"It hurts. I think I might have sprained it." Ali gently grabbed my wrist, twisting it making me wince.

"You definitely sprained it, but it'll heal." I brought my wrist back, rubbing it gently.

"Do you know if anyone can give me a ride to Mr Miyagi's place." Ali looked around before spotting someone.

"Eric! Can you do me a favor?" Eric nodded, confused, but ran over.

"Hey doll. What do you need." Eric asked, his hands in his pockets.

"Can you bring Marie somewhere? She'll direct you, but she doesn't have a ride." Eric nodded, extending a hand. I took it grateful and stood up, wiping my eyes.

"What happened?" He asked, walking towards his car.

"I'll tell you in the car." I responded, sniffing a little.
