Happy New Year everyone!!!

This is a little special I decided to do for the end of 2020. It doesn't particularly fall into any sort of timeline in my story yet, but it is technically canon (unless I say otherwise one day). Who knows...I might even reference it one day :P

Warning: it will be bad since I can't make anything that's off the top of my head creative XI
Also I barely edited this as I was on a time crunch, so bear with me if it's cringy AS FREAK!!

Hope you like it anyway!

In the kitchen of Garmadon's newly restored monastery, everyone was in a bustle.

"Who's got the water?" Nya asked, only for Jay to answer "I do!"

"Who's got the snacks?" Jay asked, only for Kai to answer "Me!"

Everyone had been at this since the afternoon rolled around. It was a complete change to the lazy morning everyone was enjoying; but Ayata could still sense that strange excitement from everyone.

She was standing on the sidelines confused as she watched the ruckus. Heck, even Lloyd and Garmadon were participating in it. Why?

"Something wrong, Ayata?" Misako's voice startled the young teen.

"It's just—" the girl shifted in her spot a bit as she tried to find the right words. "What's everyone doing?"

"Getting ready for the New Year's Festival," the mother answered. But that only made Ayata more confused.

"But what's the point of celebrating a new year?"

"Because it's fun!" Lloyd popped up beside the girl suddenly. Ayata jumped a little before turning to face his green orbs, his face full of joy. "There's a lot of cool and fun things that happen at the Festival!"

But then the excitement was replaced with question. "Why don't you seem excited?"

Ayata bit her lip. "I've never exactly heard of any festivals due to me...well...you know...surviving. The perks of being an orphan I guess."

Lloyd pouted at that. But then an idea flashed into his head and made him smile wide. Ayata rose a brow at him. What is he thinking?

He suddenly grabbed her hand in his, startling the girl abit. "It's settled then!"

"What's settled?"

"I'm gonna make sure you experience everything this New Year!"

"That's not exactly neces—"

"I heard a declaration~!" Jay sang as he popped up behind Lloyd. The latter nodded.

"We gotta make sure this is the best First New Years Festival for Ayata!"

"That's really—"

Jay gasped—quite dramatically—and before Ayata could stop him, he began to tell the others the plan.

"Well what are we waiting for?" Kai pressed, grabbing the bag full of snacks. "Onward!"

Ayata huffed in small annoyance. She didn't like bringing attention to her—especially if she happened to be the center of it.

But she didn't know whether to thank Lloyd for caring, or kill him for bringing the unwanted attention onto her.

"Zane, you have the basket I presume?" Wu asked the nindroid who nodded.

"And I've got Aya!"

Said girl was surprised at Lloyd's statement.

"What do you—WHOA?!?" Lloyd had suddenly hoisted the silver-eyed teen over his shoulder and started bolting down the hallway. "To the car!"
