Ayata's P.O.V
What...happened....
I slowly opened my eyes, but because my eyelids felt heavy I was only able to open them a tiny bit. All I saw was white. I was also a bit cold and had a throbbing headache that felt as though someone had struck me with a hammer; I could barely feel my left leg; there was a loud whistling that I couldn't describe. I could faintly hear someone talking.
The last thing I remembered was falling off a roof as I was being chased by some villagers. I must have fallen unconscious and been thrown out of the village far away. Typical....
I felt around the ground to try and stand up despite how tired and unenergetic I felt. Except I wasn't feeling the ground. I felt something soft, like fabric almost, and grabbed it with what little strength I had--I heard a tiny "eek!"I slightly turned my head and found a pair of bright emerald-green eyes staring widely at my tired silver ones. He seemed familiar. There was a moment of silence before the green-eyed boy said, "Uh--Hi?"
Normally my first instinct would have been to run; but I was so tired and hungry that I didn't have the energy to do anything. I responded with a croaky and almost inaudible voice, "Who...are you?"
The boy seemed hesitant when answering. "My name's Lloyd. Are...are you ok?"
Ok....Ok was an overstatement. Truthfully I felt anything but "ok". I was going to say yes but instead I squeaked out, "hungry..."
Something flashed in his eyes, but I didn't know what it was. "That explains why...." he said in a low voice. "Where are we?" I asked.
"On top of a mountain.""...why?" That wasn't something you heard everyday. Why would someone be on top of a mountain during Winter. Well, at least now I knew that the whistling I was hearing was a blizzard. "Where are we going?"
"I...don't actually know," he admitted shyly, "I've just been looking for something that could help me get my revenge on those Ninja."
Ninja? That peaked my interests. I've never heard of Ninjas before. "What are Ninjas?" He looked at me as though I had asked about the easiest answer in the world. "You mean you don't know?"
I shook my head.
"Well Ninja are...they...hmm, I don't know how to explain it. I guess I'll just have to show you." He started to ramble on about these Ninja and I listened as closely as I could without letting my tiredness get to me. "Those stupid Ninja. Well I'll show them who they're dealing with. And once I get my revenge, they'll know not to mess with me!" He kicked a rock into a random direction and a distant clang echoed.
He rushed to the sound as fast as he could, but I could tell he was trying not to bounce me around much. When he reached the sounds source he took me off his back and held me up by having my arm around his shoulder. "What's this?"
Before us lied what seemed to be a tomb engraved with intricate snake designs. Next to us was a snake-shaped lever...and Lloyd decided it would be a great idea to pull it. There was a great rumbling and before we knew it we were both falling down into the hole. It seemed like it would never end until I felt my back landing on something hard and cold. As if it couldn't get any more painful, Lloyd landed on top of me, causing even more pain than I could bear."S-Sorry," He muttered as he helped me up. I felt something trickling down the side of my face but I thought nothing of it. We looked around and found ourselves in what seemed to be an underground ice cave. It was quite beautiful.
We never got a chance to admire it when a deep and slippery voice called out to us. "You are out of your minds to venture so far away from home, little ones." His 's's slurred on like a snake. We turned around and found ourselves face to face with a huge anthropomorphic snake. Aside from its glistering blue and yellow scales and it's long pointed teeth, the thing that popped out the most were his large swirling red eyes. It held a staff in the design of a snake.
