Lloyd's P.O.V.

The glass doors parted ways as I got closer and stepped through. Immediately the quiet atmosphere made me feel uncomfortable. The white walls seemed to close in on me despite the  number of people scattered along the place; they were either busy on their phone or reading something, or checking with the front desk. However, there were a few worried faces amongst the crowd.

Could you blame them though? The Great Devourer literally just attacked yesterday. No way was there no one injured.

As that thought crossed my mind, I tugged on my sleeve.

Right, I thought. Aya's one of them.

I made my way to the desk where I had to raise to my tippy-toes to just get my eyes above it. Sometimes I wish I had Aya's height advantage.

"What can I help you with?" a lady asked, peering down at me.

"Uh, hi I'm, uh, here to see Ayata," I said, slightly stuttering.

"Ayata who?"

"Um...it's just Ayata," I replied. "Oh! Someone named Lisa sent me," I said seeing the slight scowl the woman sent me before she stopped.

"Oh, yes, she said someone was coming to see her. Okay, I just need your name."

"It's Lloyd!" I opted to just go for my first name and only that. I get the feeling that she'd probably not let me in if she found out who my dad was.

Sure there are some people that are thanking my dad for destroying the Devourer and saving the city, but then there are the haters. And I can't seem to get away from those.

The lady gave me a wristband with some information like my name and who I'm visiting and other information that I don't really understand.

I read on and saw that she was in room 403. (Anyone get the reference? I wuv you if you did ^^)

"Take the elevator and she should be only a couple doors down from the second hallway," the lady said before going back to her paperwork.

I silently thanked her and hopped onto the elevator with a few others. I kinda felt a bit out of place amongst them with their normal clothes while I'm wearing my Gi. But this was the only thing I could really wear since the Devourer ate the Bounty. We were supposed to go shopping at one point, but I don't think we're gonna do that anytime soon.

There was a small ding and I realized I was the only one on the elevator and on the fourth floor. I zoomed out as the doors were closing, nearly getting caught in the crushing metal doors as it closed.

I walked down the hallway and not long I found myself standing in front of room 403. I took in a breath and creaked the door open and found myself walking into an ongoing conversation.

"How are you feeling today, miss."

Silence.

Okaaaay, maybe not an ongoing conversation. I jumped when the door softly shut behind me with a click, drawing the two people in the room attention's.

"Hello, young man" the man, obviously a doctor from the white coat he wore, greeted. "Are you here to visit?"

"Uh, yes," I nodded. "I'm not, um, interrupting anything, am I?"

The doctor shook his head. "No. We already did some x-rays to check how her bones and muscle tissues are healing. I just came in to do some check-ups."

I let out a soft "Oh" before averting my attention back to my white-haired friend, who sat on the white bed with a frown, her face down. If you looked hard enough, you could see she was covered in bandages from head to toe. She kinda looked like a mummy.
