Chapter 18 | Too Much for One Day But Uraraka Floats Away Anyway

Momo's Pov.

  Was she the only one hoping that Midoriya would elaborate? She could barely understand the situation as it is, and he's not making it any clearer.

  "A... A villain version..." Midoriya told them.

  "What?" Momo felt like she knew what was going on slightly better. So Ochaco was having nightmares about a villain Midoriya to the point where she screams out in her dreams... That sounded awful... 

  "He-He always saves me in the end though..." Ochaco chimed in. It seemed like she was trying to smile, but having a hard time to do so.

  Momo wondered who was saving Ochaco if the one who was haunting her dreams was villain Midoriya. She needed to know more about what was going on so she could help.

  "What do you mean by that?" Momo pondered, trying to grasp the situation better. It was right out of reach. She hoped she hadn't hurt Ochaco more by saying that though.

  "Deku comes, but in a hero costume to help me out of whatever trouble I'm in," Ochaco explained in more detail, her voice was a little more confident now. "But then... the other Deku, Villain Deku, always comes and they start fighting each other..."

  Momo didn't realize what she was saying before, but now she thought it was something like this: Villain Midoriya comes and tries to hurt her (whether emotionally, physically, or both, she was still unsure) and then at the end of the dream, another Midoriya comes, but dressed in his hero attire and saves her. And then apparently the two Midoriya's start fighting. Ochaco said this was the third time this has happened.

  Momo breathed a sigh of relief when she got it straight in her head. Maybe it didn't sound like it was true, but if it was, she now had a better grasp on the situation. Maybe she could help Ochaco now. 

  "Huh?" mostly everyone looked confused.

  "So then there's two of him..?" Kaminari wondered.

  "What the-" there was a beep coming from Bakugo, "-! There's way too-" another beep rang out, "-many of him already!"

  Momo did want Bakugo to stop cursing. The ring of the beep was getting irking, but the blond haired male wouldn't stop. 

  "There's the villain version of Deku that tells me I'm pathetic and useless before pulling out his villain outfit... and then I always fall into trouble... while Deku always saves me from trouble. But then, both the Deku start fighting..." Ochaco finished.

  So Villain Midoriya was hurting her physically and emotionally.

  Then Midoriya and Ochaco started whispering to each other as if no one else were there. 

  That was when Toru pulled on her arm and she stood up, understanding that Toru and Mina wanted to talk to only the girls.

Todoroki's Pov.

  "We should follow them this time," Mineta started to walk the same way the girls went.

  "No!" the rest of them shouted again, just like last time. 

  That was when a few of them got up just to cover Mineta and Kaminari's (just in case) mouth. They didn't want the same situation to repeat even though it kind of already did.

  They stayed like that for a few minutes, but then heard a scream.

  Todoroki immediately glanced around the area, but then it hit him that it was a feminine scream. He started rushing over to the girls. He was a little nervous at what he might find because of Mineta, but didn't want to risk whatever was going on. What if one of them was hurt? He was sure it wasn't Yaoyorozu, her voice was different, but he hadn't ever heard her scream either...

  "Help!" the voice shouted again.

  "What happened? Is everyone alright?" he raced up to Yaoyorozu when he found her.

  "Och-" Yaoyorozu was cut off.

  "Uraraka!" Midoriya shouted, interrupting Yaoyorozu.

  Todoroki instantly turned to him to see Midoriya was looking up at the sky. He noticed a silloette in the distance. That was probably Uraraka.

  "I'll catch you!" Midoriya promised the brunette.

  "Deku, are you sure!?" she yelled back.

  It stood out to him that she could recognize Midoriya's voice from where they were, but this was no time for that, they needed to save Uraraka now.

  "I'll protect you!" Midoriya vowed, "I promise!"

  "I'll release at "one"," Uraraka told them.

  Todoroki knew that Midoriya could handle this, so he stayed out of the way.

  "Three, two," Uraraka started.

  That was when Midoriya started sprinting toward her.

  "One!" she released her quirk and started falling.

  They all went back to the campsite. Getting riled up wasn't going to help anything.

  "I'm so glad Midoriya was there..." Yaoyorozu sighed, "I don't know what would've happened if he wasn't..."

  Someone else would've saved her. But he wasn't about to tell her that. He could've easily saved her too. But he didn't because Midoriya was so keen on doing it. Why was Yaoyorozu so impressed with him all of a sudden anyway? It wasn't like he was the only one in the entire class who could've managed that. He wasn't sure why she thought that Midoriya was the only one who could've pulled it off. 

  Todoroki could only nod. He didn't want to upset her because he was being insensitive.

  "There they are!" Yaoyorozu pointed at Midoriya, who was carrying Uraraka bridal style. She seemed to be... Unconscious. 

  "Shh!" Midoriya put a finger to his lips and then pointed at a sleeping Uraraka. 

  Everyone became silent so that they didn't wake her up. 

  "Goodnight," he told Yaoyorozu when she approached him. 

  Todoroki left to go back to his tent. He wanted to get rest. Too much had already happened and if something else were to happen, he wanted to be asleep so that unless someone woke him, he wouldn't have to deal with anything else. 

  He went back in the tent and closed his eyes when he settled his head on his pillow. This time, he was on the opposite side as before so that his left side was closer to the spot Yaoyorozu was sleeping.

  The tent's flaps opened and he knew that it was Yaoyorozu. Then the light went away. Probably because she blew it out. Then she settled beside him and he fell unconscious.

Author's Note: Okay, finally I'm done with this chapter! I'm sorry it took me so long... Anyway, the conversation that the girls had is in my IzuOcha book (as well as all the dreams) so this all might make more sense if you read that. I decided not to include the conversation because not everyone is an IzuOcha fan (and also because I forgot what came next and just started on a Pov, forgetting this was going to happen-), so yeah.
