Momo's Pov.

"Todoroki..?" she mumbled groggily. She was awoken because she was moved. Momo tried to open her eyes, but the sun blinded them. Eventually, she got used to the light and opened her eyes again.

Her heart sped up as she realized Todoroki was holding her! What happened? When did this happen? Why? How did they end up this way!?

He had his arm around her waist as if they were dancing the waltz. His grip was gentle and yet so firm... It wouldn't be a lie if she said she felt safe there. But it also made her flustered and really nervous.

'What should I do!? What should I do!?'

They stared at each other for a long moment before he pulled her right-side up, placed her in her seat normally, and then turned to look out the window. Like that didn't just happen. That's what it felt like every time... He didn't say anything about it or even show emotion on his face. He just... turned away and pretended nothing happened... Momo wondered if he even thought back to those moments. Would he even remember that? Maybe it would be clearer for her to know if he liked or hated her if his face did show any emotion.

What if he did..? Wait a minute... What if he did open up to her? Maybe if she spent more time with him... We would open up. And even if it turned out that he only liked her as a friend, she could know and move on, right? If only it were that simple... But she could move on faster instead of letting her feelings grow, right?

'Yes... This might be a good plan...'

Or maybe it wasn't. But what was bad about trying?

She realized that she was staring at Todoroki, so she looked away quickly.

"Yeah..." she mumbled with a determined stare after thinking about the pros and cons of her strategy.

  "Hm?" Todoroki glanced at her.

"Oh, nothing," she smiled at him even though everything was telling her to look away. Her heart was pounding so fast... She was really afraid he'd hear it but decided it was impossible. The only one how might be able to hear her heartbeat was Jiro, but she was playing truth or dare with Ashido and Kaminari to notice.

Momo snorted when she saw Jiro blush and turn away from Kaminari and Ashido. Looks like Momo wasn't the only one with crush. Well... There was Ochaco and Midoriya too, so it was at least two with a crush. Wait a minute... There was Tokoyami and Tsu too... Momo just decided not to keep count because there was too many.

Anyway, the point of these thoughts were that she decided to get to know Todoroki better. If this was for better or worse, she was unsure, but she decided to chance this. Maybe it would all turn out okay. Maybe...  Just maybe... She had a chance to melt his icy heart.

Todoroki's Pov.

The time passed by pretty quickly. They didn't speak to each other much, but it wasn't uncomfortable. He was reading articles on his phone and Yaoyorozu was most likely listening to a podcast or music because she had earbuds plugged in.

He wondered where she got them because she never opened her bag, but then remembered she could technically create anything if she set her mind to it. He thought her quirk was interesting. Could he create a snowcone maker for him is she wanted? Probably.

Currently he was reading an article about a villain outbreak in a nearby city. Some of the heroes that were involved in the squirmish were Mt. Lady, Kamui Woods, Death Arms, and... Endeavor.

Todoroki narrowed his eyes at his phone screen when he scrolled to his picture. He loathed him. Even no dad was better than him. His grip tightened on the phone screen as rage bubbled.

"Todoroki?" Momo questioned, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah," he nodded his head quickly. He didn't look at her because he wouldn't know what to say. Not that he was afraid. Just that he didn't want to get too close. He didn't want these strange thoughts to grow frequent. It would disrupt his classes when they clouded his thoughts. His goal was to surpass his father, not become one- Wait, that sounded wrong...

Todoroki suppressed his blush while staring out the window.

He needed to stay as far away from Yaoyorozu as possible. If he didn't, who knew how much these feelings would grow... He didn't want them to. If they sank down and died it would be much easier to live life in UA. Much easier to surpass his father without them.

Even if they got together, he wouldn't know what to do or say. He wondered if Yaoyorozu ever had a boyfriend. She probably did, considering how beautiful and caring she was.

No Todoroki. Stop thinking about her.

It was hard not to, considering he was sitting beside her. He just didn't want this to grow. Todoroki knew he would have to work with her in the future, whether it be for hero work or a school assignment. The faster they faded, the faster he would be back on track with his life.

He went back to reading articles, then one popped up that caught his attention.

'Hanahaki Awareness' was it's title. Even though it was ost likely fake, he wanted to read it just in case it was real.

  Todoroki clicked it.

He read it, but continued to think it was more and more fake as he read on. A disease where you you coughed flower petals until you suffocated because of the thorns? Ridiculous. And how it started? Even more ridiculous. How could you catch a disease from one-sided love? It wasn't possible.

After reading it, the bus slowed to a stop.

"Okay, now get off the bus... We'll be getting back on eventually so you can leave your bags..." Mr. Aizawa sighed.

Todoroki placed his phone on the seat and walked out of the bus like everyone else.
