Momo's Pov.
She breathed a sigh of relief when the tents were done. A bead of sweat dripped down her forehead. Momo was panting hard. She didn't eat anything since breakfast... It was almost lunch at the moment and she already created seven of the simplistic tents. The overall material count would be twenty spears, ten blankets, and forty nails... And she was already beat... She didn't even finish making all the materials yet... The spears were what really took the most effort out of all of them. It was strange. You wouldn't think that those materials could make tents, but yet they did once they actually created the tents.
"We're almost done with the main set up, but we still need a little more things for this to work," Tokoyami thought aloud, "But for now we need to rest and get something for us to eat."
It was summer and the sun was halfway through the sky. Their shadows were only little puddles at their feet. It may not have been humid, but it was definitely hot. There was no shade in the meadow they chose.
"Mineta, you're really not doing anything useful, so maybe you should consider switching to another job," Tokoyami looked toward Mineta.
"But I like this one!" Mineta protested. He didn't even break a sweat throughout the whole thing... It was because he didn't do anything.
"Only because you're not doing anything!" Ochaco argued, she was looking pretty beat too.
They all sat down. It felt really nice...
"I can't believe all that packing we did before this trip was just for show..." Momo sighed. She was really disappointed. She packed so much in there...
"I know..." Uraraka murmured, then said more softly, "My favorite hoodie was in there..."
All the girls knew what it was. It was Midoriya's hoodie. The one they had made a big deal about the other day. Everyone knew about Ochaco's crush on him except for Midoriya.
"What does it look like?" Midoriya asked her.
Momo hid a smile.
Ochaco turned red and looked really surprised, "I didn't say anything!"
"Well, okay then," something told Momo that Midoriya knew Ochaco was lying but he didn't say anything.
"Anyway, we should check with the fishing group to see what they're up to," Midoriya suggested, "They might have not even started cooking lunch yet."
They all headed to the river to see what the others had caught.
Tsu was swimming in the water. Toru took her clothes off so she could wade into it without being noticed by the fish. Being invisible did have its advantages. Shoji had six fishing poles made out of sticks and vines, and Jiro was pointing to places with large groups of fish so that Tsu could sneak up on them.
She really wanted to go into the water... It was probably really nice... But she also didn't want the water to soak through her shirt or take off her clothes.
Momo sighed. Maybe there was some way she could cool off other than getting in the water.
Soon after, they started cooking the fish so that they
Todoroki's Pov.
He got back to the meadow to realize that seven tents were set up. He wondered which one was going to be his and Yaoyorozu's. Smoke was rising in the distance, but it looked controlled.
Todoroki strolled over to it.
It appeared that some of the others had prepared a meal of fish.
A crowd was collecting near them.
Todoroki waited for his turn to get a fish.
"Is it alright if I share with Tsu?" Yaoyorozu questioned.
He glacned at her in a confused manner.
"The fish," she clarified.
'So it's only one fish for two people...'
Todoroki nodded. And she walked away.
"Are there any extra fish left?" Todoroki questioned Hagakure.
"Why? Aren't you sharing with Momo?" she wondered. For once, this wasn't in a teasing voice. She sounded like she was actually asking.
"She's sharing with Tsu," Todoroki informed her.
"Well... There was this little one left... We gutted it, but it's still raw," Hagakure held up a fish that was about half the size of the others.
"That'll do," Todorki took it from her and then used his fire to cook it quickly. He wasn't that good at cooking food, but this wasn't a matter of liking the food or not.
Hagakure walked back to Mina. Probably to share a fish.
Todoroki put the fish in his mouth. It was... Pretty awful to say the least... It was kind of burned on the outside and not fully cooked on the inside... He almost wished he shared a fish with Yaoyorozu in the moment. Would that be considered an indirect kiss though? Would it taste like peach chapstick like her lips did?
'Stop.'
He shook his head around for a minute and then finished the horrible tasting fish. He didn't exactly feel like he was going to vomit, but he didn't like it.
"Todoroki, why are you here by yourself?" Yaoyorozu's voice could be heard from behind him.
He turned towards her.
"To be alone," he told her.
No... Not completely true... He was avoiding Yaoyorozu in particular. And she had walked over to him. Why was she trying to talk to him so much? Why couldn't she just go back to her actual friends instead of trying to talk to someone who didn't want to talk.
"I'll leave you alone then..." Yaoyorozu turned around and left. She did go back to her friends. They greeted her with a smile and started talking to her excitedly.
He never greeted her with a smile. He almost never even gave more than one word answers unless it was for his academic life (like the midterms.) But for some reason... She chose to walk up to him... Why?
He leaned against a nearby tree.
Todoroki was supposed to be avoiding her because of his feelings for her... But for some reason he was only becoming more and more curious...
Yaoyorozu would never like him again anyway.
Todoroki cleared his throat to get rid of that strange thought. But then he felt something in his mouth so he pulled it out.
It was a petal... A big red one. It was darker toward its smaller side and then got a lighter red as it got bigger, but then stayed the same red. He wasn't sure which flower this was, but he probably accidentally swallowed it while he was in Tsu's garden.
Todoroki threw the petal to the side and let a soft breeze carry it away.
