Momo's Pov.
She kind of yearned to find out what happened in her book, but she wanted to talk to Todoroki if he so desired- No, that sounded strange... Maybe wished was the correct word? One of them... But who would want to talk to her? Well... Other than Ochaco, Jiro, Tsu, Mina, and Toru at least. Momo started to wonder if Todoroki ever wanted to talk to her but then shook her head. He probably only wanted to talk during, well... He probably never wanted to talk to her...
"I think I'm just going to read my book now," she told him after a minute.
"Understood," he nodded his head.
She opened her book to the page that she left off on.
The main character was confessing her crush on the boy. The story noted that the girl was nervous, blushing, and a little scared. It also told how they were standing under a cherry blossom tree. And then the confession came.
"I-I like you," she stuttered to him.
There was a moment of silence. It was making her nervous... What was he going to say?
"I'm sorry. I don't like you."
Momo shut the book close as soon as possible.
"Are you alright?" Todoroki questioned, but it came out more like an interrogation.
"Yeah... Just something in my book," Momo pushed a few strands of hair behind her ear, trying to collect herself, "I think I'll just go to sleep instead of reading..."
She was about to put her book in her bag but remembered that it was stuffed and if she opened it everything would drop out of it... How embarrassing would it be for all her underwear to spill out and then Todoroki saw it- Everyone. Everyone would see it.
Momo's face turned red at the thought. Then she covered it and sighed. That wouldn't happen, right? Not as long as she didn't open her bag.
It wasn't like she had any pockets... Women's pants or shorts never had any pockets... It was very annoying, which was why she made some of her clothing because she would make real pockets instead of fake ones or none. Seriously, why did women's attire in general never have pockets? It was inconvenient. It was a problem. A simple solution would be to put pockets somewhere on the clothing.
"Um... Could you maybe hold onto my book?" Momo asked. She trusted him after he returned it the last time. He didn't keep it. He didn't burn it. Or freeze it. He didn't give it to someone else.
Todoroki nodded and took the book from her.
She puts her head back to the seat, and a few seconds later, she heard something bang against the window.
Momo jolted to a sitting position and glanced at Todoroki.
"Did you... Hit your head against the window?" she wondered.
"The bus went over a bump," he informed her.
No, it really had not but she just mentally shrugged and tried to go asleep again.
Todoroki's Pov.
"Um... Could you maybe hold onto my book?" Yaoyorozu questioned.
He nodded because he wasn't exactly sure what to say, and she handed her book to him. Their fingertips brushed again. He couldn't help but blush a little bit and glance out the window.
Todoroki tucked her book in his pocket for safekeeping.
Her fingertips were soft too. And warm. That was how normal hands were, right? He couldn't tell because his right hand was cold but his left was warm. He wanted to touch them again. Would that come off as strange? Maybe he could kiss her again instead-
Todoroki banged his head on the window so that the thought would go away. It didn't hurt. It didn't really rid the thoughts of her lips though.
"Did you hit your head against the window?" Yaoyorozu wondered.
"The bus went over a bump," Todoroki lied. It wasn't very believable, but it was the only thing he could think of at the heat of the moment.
After a few moments, he could hear her deep breathing. She was asleep now.
He breathed a silent sigh of relief. He could sit there without thinking those thoughts... He leaned against the seat and stared out the window for a few minutes until he felt something fall on his left side.
"Yaoyorozu?" he glanced her way.
There was no reply because... Yaoyorozu was sleeping on his shoulder..!
What should he do? What should he do? This wasn't helping him forget about his feelings for her a single bit! He didn't want to push her away at this point, she would wake up.
His muscles tensed up and he felt his cheeks heat up.
'Stop.'
He calmed himself by trying to forget about her being there.
The sky was bright and blue, so there most likely wasn't going to be a storm today. This was lucky for them, depending on what type of camping they were doing. He pondered if this was going to be like the Wild, Wild, Pussy Cat's or if that's where they were going. However, UA was full of unexpected surprises. In fact, everyone was making this camping trip out to be a fun trip, when in reality it was going to be more like the Wild, Wild, Pussy Cat's training.
Todoroki heard the snoring of the two people in front of him. Midoriya and Uraraka had fallen asleep. Should he go to sleep too? Maybe it would be for the best so that he could be rested for the camp. And also forget about Yaoyorozu.
He closed his eyes and submitted to sleep.
Todoroki opened his eyes when he felt the bus slow to a stop. He was unsure of how long he was sleeping, but he knew they were either at the camp or just a rest stop.
That was when he saw Ashido take a picture and he sat upright. Yaoyorozu fell the other way so he caught her by the waist before she fell the full way.
"Todoroki?"
