Ohh, yes~. You have no idea how good it feels to be out of that mess of a year!
Obviously, the world still has a lot of work to do if it wants to get its crap back together (mostly the U.S), but the best thing right now is that we made it through the year! Somehow...for better or worse, I guess.
Anyway, first off—Really big apologies for the (mostly) unintended hiatus. The plan was to take the week after the last chapter to get the last few drafts I had done and work on outlines. Originally, I wanted to finish the story before 2020 ended, but it's obvious now that this is bigger than I thought it was.
Couple that with lockdown, online classes, personal things as well and...yeah. I think we've all experienced that within the past few months. If I'm being honest, 2020 might've been the best year for me—mostly because of Beastars.
I found the anime on Netflix and couldn't stop watching, and if that weren't enough, I found out about the manga soon after (I'm not all the way through it, btw). At the beginning of the year, I had plans for a different story in the works, but things didn't go my way and it ended up on the backburner. With Beastars, though?
Oh no, I am not letting this go to waste. So I looked at some fanfics, jotted some notes down for what my story would be about, and come April: I got a new story done. That brings us to now, though.
I haven't gotten all the drafts done, and I haven't even started updating my notes. It's gotten draining, to be honest, what with elections (Georgia runoff, yay...) and a bunch of old rich people arguing over how much money people should get. It's been an emotional roller coaster for me, but I'm not letting that stop me.
You'll have to wait a little longer before the next update, unfortunately. In two weeks time, the 15th, I should have at least some things in order. New Year's jitters and all that...
As for right now, though, I'm leaving 2020 in a pit with a lot of gasoline, and I'm throwing in the match now. That year can go off and burn in hell, for all I care. As good as it was for me in terms of Wattpad, the bad left a taste in my mouth so vile that not even the strongest imaginary whiskey can erase it.
So, here's to hoping 2021 doesn't kick our asses...
