Alan..., Legosi thought. I don't know what to do with you.

After the human's "breakdown", if you could call it that, the carnivore group was silent. It took a bit for the discussion to start back up, reverting to whether Legosi slept with Haru the night before the Meteor Festival. That prompted an angry (if not, maybe passionate) response from the wolf, which revealed what Alan had already said earlier. Bill would've taken it down a heated route, but Aoba cut in with his perspective.

Legosi said he was in love with Haru, but Aoba suggested that it may not be that. Instead of an actual romantic feeling for her, it may be the way the wolf feels about herbivores in general. There were already major events in his life involving them— Tem's murder, Louis' departure, and to a lesser extent Pina's arrival. He was always reserved at every turn, with some exceptions. It made him think he shouldn't be so close to Haru, even as a carnivore.

But then he thought about Alan.

The human was at the forefront of his mind even after he left the rooftop. He wanted to help him, make sense of everything he learned, and maybe find a solution. That would be tough, though, as he made it clear he was out of their reach. Even if they tried, he'd brush them off. The wolf wasn't willing to give up on him, however. One part of Alan's rant stuck out to him above the rest...

"He had the nerve, the audacity...to try and fight a lion gangster boss who was planning to eat him! It's hilarious!

That was the reason he looked into human history— the real reason. He remembered Alan divulging what the lions told him before he fought the boss, how he felt confused with the conflicting information at the time. Now he had the full picture, and it wasn't good at all. It brought him back to recently, when the human snapped at him for trying to talk him out of how he's feeling. Now he was worse than before, and the wolf was at a standstill on what to do.

He held himself near a tree in the courtyard, gaze to the ground.

Alan, I swore I'd help you find your way., he thought sadly, But how do I help if you aren't willing to listen? You say it's your fault Tem died, but...

Unbeknownst to him, a shadowy silhouette loomed over him.

"I kept thinking...what if Tem wasn't the one the killer wanted? What if it was supposed to be me?"

I want to find Tem's killer..., the wolf thought with realization.

A breeze blew from behind him, Not out of a sense of duty.

A heavy snort sounded off, because I—

He didn't finish the thought, as he moved out of the way of a heavy punch. The breeze was the first clue, but the snort cemented it. He only got a glance before the blow came, but he managed to dodge in time. As he caught himself on his arms, his heart pounded quickly. Whoever this was, he meant business.

How'd he get behind me?, he thought as he got his bearings. Who is he?!

He turned his head to look, but was stopped short by a foot shoving him back to the ground. It was heavy, pressing down hard on him. Is he trying to keep him from looking at his face? He's big, given how hard his foot is pressing onto him. Could he be the killer?! Legosi struggled to push against the heavy foot.

"W-who are you..?!", he panted as he tried to turn his body around.

This pressure...it's freezing my whole body! Damn it!

He managed a glance again, but he didn't see a face— something else was coming towards him.

Oh shit. Shit! Shit!
