As Asu prepared to leave, Midori jumped off from the rooftop without hesitation, landed a few steps away from Asu. Fears and shocks, Asu turned around and witnessed Midori's smiling face in blood.
'Once upon a time, fate brought you into my life,
and destiny had me hold you in my arms.
I painted your love,
and you completed me.
Today, fate took away your memories,
and destiny took you away from me.
I am the lost journey of your life,
and you are the missing piece of my heart.'"Why?!" Mai filled the corridor with loud cries. Her face was buried in her thin palms. Droplets of tears puddled in her palms and poured down before dripping off her wrist and falling onto the vinyl flooring.
"Why did Midori suicide out of a sudden?! Why didn't she talk to me?!" She cried a series of unanswered questions before her teeth gritted behind her lips as if it could stop her emotions from dashing out of her mouth.
Sadness lingered in the cheerful girl's brittle voice, hot tears washed her never-stop-smiling face, and overwhelming depression filled every inch of the optimistic girl. Staring at the raven-haired girl, the redhead learned the definition of helpless; he felt helpless of his incapability to help the helpless girl.
"Pull yourself together, Mai-chan!" Shiro shouted with a blend of firmness and helplessness in his tone as he held her arms tightly. 'I'm such an idiot. How could someone stay calm knowing such news out of the blue?' His inner voice lectured; yet, what else could he say if it was not encouragement?
