'If I could speak,
I would tell you
how much I love you.
If you look into my eyes,
you will find
how much you mean to me.
Because I learned
what love is
from your eyes, too.'

I don't remember the face of my mother, nor her scent- precisely, my biological mother. However, I remember her heartbeat. It was calming and soothing. That was the oldest memory I have- before I opened my eyes from my longest dream.

Translucent windows were what connected me with the new world- to me, at least. I learned what friends were and also what enemies were. For example, my awkward friend- the Shihtzu, and my nosy neighbour- the Poodle. Sometimes, some two-legged friends dropped by. However, they never stay for long.

Unlike my scaredy-cat siblings, I found enjoyment in this new world. I loved to invite my friend to play, though she never accepted my invitation. I found pleasure in picking a fight with my neighbour, though I don't always win. I enjoyed the company of my two-legged friends, though they never returned as promised.

However, it did not take long for me to realise that no one stays; everyone leaves eventually. I still remember the morning when my friend, the Shihtzu, left- without saying goodbye. I also remember the evening when one of my siblings got brought out of our room- and never came home.
