"Listen..." Kazuki and Asu spoke at the same time before they were strangulated. An awkward silence followed. "Actually-!" Their voice overlapped once again and paused instantaneously.

'When I found you in the sea of people,
I found the only colour in my monochrome life
You were a deep blue sea,
hitting my world and holding me close.
Yet, how can I keep an ocean with me?'

The quietness was not accompanied by peace; the silence did not come with serenity

The quietness was not accompanied by peace; the silence did not come with serenity. The grey-haired man and the brunette hushed; yet, the inner voice beneath their skulls roared. Ironically, the only silent moment they shared was the moment in which words were appreciated better than silence.

"It is... Honmei," Asu decided to break the silence, continuing the words that had been kept behind her lips a moment ago. As Steve Jobs says, 'Simple can be harder than complex'. Such a simple, brief confession she made; yet, it drained all the courage she summoned.

"I see..." Kazuki responded after a moment of silence. All were as he expected- and he came prepared. As the saying goes, 'It's all easier said than done, and it wasn't easy to say either'. The sentences that he had been saying to the other givers were rather difficult for him to repeat at this very moment.

"... My bad," Kazuki uttered softly with hints of guilt in his tone. "I... can't return your feelings," he muttered quietly. The gentleness in his spoken words did not comfort the brunette better. The softness in his voice did not kill the aches in his heart better.
