It was March 17th, the time was 9:20 am and it was unseasonably warm as the past week was warm much to the surprise of the city of Chicago and Abby and Dominic planned to see the river get dyed green since it was St Patrick's day and Dominic was decked out in a green shirt, green trackpants and adidas superstar sneakers and Abby was wearing a green shirt and green trackpants as well and they were seen leaving the building.

"Which way do you think is the quickest way to get to State Street?" Abby asked her son.

"From what i checked last night, we can catch the 29 State bus at Grand & McClurg  and get off at Lake and walk to State Street bridge, travel time being 3 minutes." Dominic told Abby.

"Sounds good."

Abby and Dominic crossed the street and after arriving at the Northwest CTA bus stop on Grand & McClurg where a 29 State bus was pulling up sitting as the time was 9:30 am and they got on and they got off at State/Lake 8 minutes later. They got off the bus and walked a block north and arrived at the State Street Drawbridge and there were a lot of people there waiting to watch the dyeing of the Chicago River.

"What a crowd." Abby said.

"Yeah." Dominic agreed, then they saw Maddie, Mackenzie, Chloe, Melissa and Christi in the crowd. "Look what the cat brought in!"

Maddie, Mackenzie, Chloe, Christi and Melissa saw them.

"Hey, Domino! Hey, Miss Abby!" Maddie, Mackenzie and Chloe greeted as the two Millers approached them.

"Came to check out the river get dyed green?" Christi asked.

"You got it." Abby answered.

"I love seeing the Chicago River get dyed green." Dominic commented to Abby.

"Me too."

A boat came and there was a crew that began to turn the Chicago River green, which took 45 minutes as everybody took pictures of the action.

"Awesome." Chloe said.

"You can say that again." Maddie added.

"How do they do that?" Mackenzie asked.

"Well, Kenzie, the Plumbers Union pours a crazy amount of what is more or less food coloring in the Chicago River from a boat. Mom told me that when i was little and she's taken me to see the Chicago River get dyed green since i was really little." Dominic answered.

"I sure did and we've had fun every time this happens." Abby said.

"You know i bet the South Side is going to get drunk." Christi predicted.

"That's really likely, Christi. The South Side has an parade called the South Side Irish Parade in the Beverly neighborhood on Western Avenue that starts at 103rd Street and ends at 115th Street. I've heard the stories on how rowdy they get." Dominic stated.

Once that was done, they all decided to head to the Hard Rock Cafe on Clark Street and Ontario Street. Once they did that, they headed back to their respective condos.
