Chapter 14: First Date

It was May 20th and on that day, Dominic and Brooke were going to go on their first date as they started making plans for their first date starting on Valentine's Day when they revealed their feelings towards one another and at Abby's condo, it was noon as Dominic was in his bedroom putting his long, wavy hair in a ponytail and he was decked out in a Blackhawks tanktop, trackpants and Adidas Adissage sandals as a knock on the door was heard.

"Are you ready to roll?" Abby asked Dominic from the living room.

"Ready when you are." Dominic replied as he exited his bedroom. "How do i look?"

"You look good." Abby replied, then they headed to the lobby, got in the escalade and left.

40 Minutes later, in a town called Gurnee, which is a northern suburb next to Waukegan and near the Illinois-Wisconsin border, Abby was seen driving in her escalade on Grand Avenue and Dominic was in the front seat as Abby left turned on Six Flags drive and straight ahead was Six Flags Great America, a theme park in Gurnee next to the expressway and Abby found a parking space near the entrance.

"There's Kelly and Brooke." Dominic said, seeing Brooke and Kelly stand near the welcome sign

The four went to get their tickets and began walking through the park and they got a picture taken with one of Dominic's favorite cartoon characters, Bugs Bunny.

"Which ride do you want to go on first?" Dominic asked Brooke.

"How about the Columbia Carousel?" Brooke suggested to her boyfriend, referring about the two level carousel which is the crown jewel of Six Flags. "Maybe we can go on the upper level."

"Sounds like a good idea."

Dominic and Brooke went up the stairs to the upper level of the Carousel as Abby and Kelly smiled at them, then Dominic and Brooke sat in the Chariot, then the carousel began moving and Dominic stretched his arm over Brooke's shoulder and she smiled at him and he smiled back. Brooke kissed him on the cheek and he kissed her on the cheek as well. Then they got off and met with their moms.

"Did you enjoy the carousel?" Kelly asked them.

"Yes we did." Brooke replied. "Domino, where do you think we should head to next?"

Dominic pulled out a map. "How about Southwest Territory? The they've got the Viper, Giant Drop and Raging Bull. Maybe we can ride The Giant Drop"

"Sounds good." Abby stated as the four walked to the Southwest Territory, a section of the park as Dominic and Brooke walked hand in hand and they arrived as Dominic and Brooke went in line to ride The Giant Drop, a freefall ride. They began to strap themselves in when it was their turn.

The Giant Drop started to go up slowly and as the ride got higher, they could see more of the park, then they reached the top and could see the expressway, Gurnee Mills, a mall in Gurnee and the parking lot.

"Brooke, we can see the Expressway from here." Dominic told his girlfriend.

"Yeah." Brooke said and eight seconds had passed. "How long do you think it'll be until we go down?"

"Well, my guess is that we'll be going back down right about......now." Dominic predicted and right as he said that, the ride began to drop. "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

"YEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Brooke shouted and the ride slowed down as it neared the ground and once it came back down to the ground, they got off,

"Dom, remember one time we came here and Paige was screaming her head off on the Giant Drop?" Brooke reminisced.

"Oh, yeah.' Dominic laughed. "I bet even New Lenox could hear."

"Yeah." Brooke also laughed, then they went over and played some games and won prizes for each other, rode some more rides. Then they headed to the county fair, another section of the park and headed in line for American Eagle, a wooden racing roller coaster and even Abby and Kelly were in line with them.

"Are you two sure you can handle this ride?" Dominic asked his mother and Kelly.

"Yeah, i've ridden this ride before and took Brooke, Paige and Josh on the ride with me." Kelly responded.

"And i took you on the ride several times." Abby commented.

"All right." Brooke said.

"You two can ride the red side and we'll ride the blue." Kelly stated as Dominic and Brooke nodded, then they headed to the red side while their moms stayed on the blue side. They got on the coasters and with that, everybody who was riding along buckled themselves in. On the Red Train, Dominic and Brooke were in the front car as Abby and Kelly were on the front car of the Blue Train as the safety bars were put in place to protect the riders.

The trains began moving at the same time and as they reached the hill, the trains began going up on the hill and after reaching the hill, the coasters dropped and went full speed, went through many mini drops, twisted turns and raced each other until reaching a turn that went left and the red coaster took the lead and they arrived back.

They went on the ride twice more and the second time, Dominic rode with Abby on the red side and Brooke rode with Kelly on the blue side. Then on the third ride, Dominic rode with Kelly on the red side and Brooke rode with Abby on the blue side and once they did that, they all exited the theme park, went to their respective condos back in downtown Chicago as Dominic and Brooke had a fantastic date.
