The day was November 24th and that was Thanksgiving Day which meant food, parades, football games, family, friends and and in Dominic's room, the time was 7:53 am and the sun was rising in the east. Dominic started to stir and he woke up and standing at the bed was Abby.
"Happy Thanksgiving, sweetheart." Abby said, giving her son a hug.
"Thanks mom, and Happy Thanksgiving to you too." Dominic replied, giving Abby a hug as Maryen walked in and hugged him, then it turned into a family hug.
"We can tell you're up early to catch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade." Maryen commented as she and Abby knew he loved watching the parade since he was little and Broadway Baby came on the bed and licked Dominic's face as to say Happy Thanksgiving which made Abby and Maryen laugh.
"Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Baby." Dominic replied as he laughed. "Now i'm gonna head to the bathroom and brush my teeth and then around 1:00, i'll hit the shower and put on my clothes for Thanksgiving dinner."
"Good idea." Abby commented.
Dominic got up from his bed and began to make his bed, put some house shoes on and headed to the bathroom. There, he brushed his teeth and washed his face and once he did that, he headed downstairs to the living room with two minutes to spare as it was 7:58 am, turned on the TV and watched the parade.
Around 1:00 pm, Dominic headed to the bathroom again, this time to take a shower and he put on a red t-shirt with a picture of Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls on the front and black trackpants and Adidas Adizero Rose 2 sneakers.
"Mom, grandma, how's this?" Dominic asked.
"Great." Abby responded.
"What she said." Maryen agreed.
"Do you want me to open the Cranberry Sauce and put in a bowl and put in the refrigerator?" Dominic asked.
"Yes, please."
Dominic headed into the kitchen, pulled out the can opener and the can of Cranberry Sauce. He carefully opened the can with the can opener, put the Cranberry Sauce in a bowl and put a top on the bowl before putting it in the refrigerator.
Later, the girls and their families arrived at Abby's condo for thanksgiving dinner, the first to arrive were Chloe, Christi and their family (Marc, Clara and Jodi), next were Maddie, Mackenzie, Melissa and their family (Greg, Renee, Ryan, Tyler), then came Nia, Holly and their family (Evan, Evan Jr aka EJ, William and Heather),then Brooke, Paige, Kelly and their family (Randy and Josh). Kendall, Jill and their family (Erno, Ryleigh and Charlotte) and Gianna and her family (Kim, Paul and Alyssa).
On the table was the turkey, ham, meatloaf, mashed potatoes & gravy, greens, dinner rolls, greens, cakes, salad, stuffing, corn and cranberry sauce. Dominic led everyone into saying grace and with that, everybody got their food and once Dominic got some turkey, ham, cranberry sauce, he was in the living room talking to Brooke.
"How's your knee, Brooke?" Dominic asked.
"It's getting a whole lot better." Brooke responded.
"Great to know." Dominic stated.
"Mom and Paigey told me about the comment that Payton made, she has to learn to watch what she says."
"She has to."
Around 9:30, everyone went home and made a plate before they left and Dominic
"I'm stuffed from thanksgiving dinner, i ate like a pig." Dominic said.
"We all ate like pigs with all the turkey, ham, stuffing, mac & cheese, pie and mashed potatoes that we ate." Abby told him.
"I'm gonna go head to my room and relax this food off before hitting the sack." Dominic told Abby.
"All righty."
Dominic headed to his bedroom, changed into a tanktop and sleeping pants, he got in the bed and relaxed in it as he watched TV and on tv was Comcast SportsNet and they were talking about the Blackhawks and around midnight, Dominic fell asleep.
