Almost two months passed and the day was currently May 6th and at the east Riverview Condos in Abby's condo, Dominic was in the living room looking out the window seeing the south part of the Chicago skyline and he was deep in thought as Abby came to him.
"Something must be on your mind, sweetheart." Abby said, then he turned around grinning.
"Mom, i have a great idea!" Dominic told Abby.
"Let's hear it." Abby said.
"I was doing some research on where our next competition is going to be and i found out we'll be heading to Akron, Ohio and you know who is more than likely to be there."
"Cathy, who else?"
"Yeah and i was thinking, since Cathy like to use older dancers in her group routines, maybe we can fight fire with fire by brining in some of our own older dancers, which can level the playing field." Dominic suggested.
"Domino, that is without a doubt one of the most fantastic ideas i've heard!" Abby stated, high fiving her son. "Cathy won't even expect that."
"You know it and unlike the previous time you went up against her and i wasn't there, we're gonna beat them."
"Yes we will."
The next day at the studio, Abby and Dominic recapped the previous competition and after pyramid, they talked about where they were going to head next.
"Ok, this week, we will be heading to Nexstar in Akron, Ohio." Dominic said as the girls and moms all groaned, knowing when it came to Ohio, the Candy Apples were bound to be there. "We might see Kendall, Vivi and all we know is that we are gonna be so hot, they'll be apple pie and our group is known as Land Unforgiving and even Mackenzie will be in the group. Paige, you have a solo called Tongue Twister, the solo that we gave you weeks ago but Kelly made us pull the routine and also, you'll be going up against Kendall for the title at Nexstar. You've got to prove to Kendall and her mother, Jill that leaving my mom's studio, the Abby Lee Dance Company was a huge mistake. Chloe, you'll also be doing a solo named Angry Bird. Over to you, mom."
"Thanks, Domino. Also, he came up with a fantastic idea, since Cathy uses older dancers in her group dances, we're gonna even the playing field by bringing in some of our own older dancers." Abby stated. "Girls, warm up and moms, you are dismissed."
The girls began to warm up and the moms went upstairs.
"It's kind of hypocritical to me that Abby's bringing in older dancers despite it being Dominic's idea because we've heard them gripe about Cathy having older dancers on her team." Holly said.
"Then again, they want to keep the playing field even." Christi stated.
"I think so as well." Melissa commented.
"Hopefully it turns out good." Kelly added.
Back in Studio A, Abby and Dominic brought in three teenage female dancers that dance for the studio.
"We know you all know them, but we'll introduce them. You know Katherine Narashimhan from the elite company, Auriel Welty and Nina Linhart who both dance for the teen company." Dominic introduced.
Through the week, they rehearsed and on Wednesday, Kelly came to gripe about Paige not having somebody teach her the solo as much, but both Abby and Dominic held their ground and told Kelly that Paige knew the routine. Irked, Kelly took matters into her own hands and re-choreographed Paige's routine.
Saturday arrived in and in Akron, Ohio, the bus that had Abby, Dominic, Gianna, the girls and moms arrived at a theatre named the Civic Theatre, which is where Nexstar would be held at and as the bus came to a stop, they all got off and Dominic offered to carry Brooke's bags and Brooke agreed, smiling at her boyfriend.
