Chapter 16: Opportunist aka Jill

Several days later, it was Wednesday and it was three days until Starbound, which was going to be held in Rosemont, a northwestern Chicagoland town in Illinois which wasn't far from Chicago and for assignments, Maddie and Mackenzie had solos, there was the usual group dance and originally Chloe and Paige were going to have a duet, but with Paige being out four to six weeks according to Kelly, it was up in the air on who'd replace her in the duet and in the dressing room, Paige was writing something in her note book and she was talking to Dominic as Jill and Kendall came in.

"Hi, Paigey." Jill greeted.

"What happened to your foot?" Kendall asked.

"Sadly, it's broke and i'm out for four to six weeks." Paige told them.

"That's rough. " Jill said, she and Kendall felt bad for Paige that she was hurt, but in Jill's mind, this was a chance for Kendall to fill in for Paige. "Four to six weels?"

"Yeah." Paige answered.

"Good luck on your recovery." Kendall stated to Paige as she headed into Studio B and Jill sat with Paige.

"Paige, Abby told me that you and Chloe had a duet and you're unable to do it?" Jill wondered as Paige nodded sadly. "That really stings and have you gotten word on who'll be in the duet?

"Jill, you idiot..." Dominic muttered under his breath as he left the Dancer's Den and walked to the front desk where Abby was sitting.

"Miss Abby said Chloe may be doing a solo and originally, we were going to do a duet, but we're gonna have to wait another time to do a duet because my foot injury." Paige responded.

"You'll get your chance to do a duet with Chloe one day." Jill assured and Paige then headed upstairs and explained to the moms what Jill spoke to her about and obviously, it was about the duet as Jill headed to the front desk where Abby and Dominic were sitting and looking up some information about the competition.

"Abby, Dominic, i noticed Paige had broken her foot." Jill stated.

"Paige actually broke her toe up into her foot." Abby corrected.

"What's going to happen since she'll be out for four to six weeks?"

"Jill, this is my mom's studio and she and the faculty make the decisions, this doesn't concern you." Dominic told Jill.

"Right."

"I get that it isn't me, but maybe is there a spot for My Little Kendall?"

"Get this through your head, when you left, you jumped to my archrival enemy and you know that did not sit well with us." Abby commented.

"I know, but i was hurt over the way you two treated Kendall." Jill said.

"What you did to us here, it was hurtful and a huge slap to the face. You didn't let us do our job and you've got to realize your place, you do not walk in a reeharsal or pyramid and you don't throw your kid at people, we have got to do what is best for the group and Kendall doesn't deserve anything, we want her to take class and study." Dominic firmly told Jill.

"Well said, Dom." Abby stated.

"I can't live with myself that i took her from here and went to Cathy and took that chance from here. I really need and want for you to give Kendall another chance."Jill told them and it made Abby and Dominic roll their eyes. "My Little Kendall was in class last night and Chloe, Brooke and Paige weren't in class, they don't come to class, Kendall does!"

"Jill, have you gone off your rocker?!" Dominic yelled. "They come to class and they were in class last night! We don't know where your brain has been!"

"What he said." Abby added as Kelly came in.

"Jill, why'd you ask Paige who was going to take her place in the duet?" Kelly wondered.

"I did not." Jill denied.

"Yes, you did, Jill. I heard you ask Paige." Dominic added.

"You must have misheard me."

"He heard you and you should have come and asked us moms before putting your claws in." Kelly said to Jill and the two moms started arguing, which annoyed Abby and Dominic and they reluctantly decided to put Kendall in the duet, much to Jill's delight.

A day later, Maddie and Chloe went to Atlanta to film their parts in Drop Dead Diva and that saturday, Maddie got 1st place in the junior soloist division, Mackenzie got 2nd in the junior petite division, Chloe and Kendall got 1st in the duet/trio division and the girls got 1st in the groups.
