Zena's POV

"Alex."

I managed to choke out, my voice coming out in a barely audible whisper.

No words could describe what I felt at that moment.

I felt like a whole bucket of ice was emptied on my head. My whole body felt numb while a full storm of emotions was raging inside me.

Any other moment, I would be more than happy to see my brother. He means the world to me. But that moment, I would be much happy even if it was Satan who turned up and not my elder brother.

I mean, which girl would ever like her brother to catch her with her boyfriend?

Let's not forget that boy is his worst enemy.

Why, thank you, my beloved inner voice. I thought, sarcastically.

I took a few seconds to take in the sight of my brother. After all, it was a while since I last saw him.

He was wearing a pair of black trousers, a blue shirt and a professional looking black blazer, along with a matching tie.

His dark brown locks that were used to be messy and playful, were neatly combed sideways. It was obvious that he was in some kind of meeting.

What took me off-guard were his eyes.
His warm brown eyes that reflected mine, which usually danced with playfulness and mischief, were narrowed in to thin slits. His whole body was rigid, jaw fixed.

With three or four long strides, Alex closed the distance between us and my whole self started to panic.

I have seen Alex angry, plenty of times.

But furious..... That was only a several times. And trust me when I say that a furious Alex is more than scary.

Once, he was furious, after Lysander had sprayed paint all over his favorite car. Alex was furious when our neighbor's kid accidentally hit me with a ball when I was seven. Alex was furious once when a certain boy flirted with me. And he was ready to kill when he learnt that Gabriel cheated on Aubrey. He was ready to rip the whole world in to pieces after we found that bastard had..... After... After he ruined my sister.

Okay, back to the point.

Alex stopped in front of us, his gaze fixed fully on Lysander who stood beside me. He was literally glaring six foot long fire blazing swords at Lysander.

"Okay. Now you are exaggerating." The little annoying voice inside me muttered.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, do you think I took any notice of it?

It's a big fat No.

"Alex." I called again as my brother stood right in front of Lysander, his fists balled up on the either sides of his body.

I turned a full ninety degrees so that I was fully focussing on both of them, my heart painfully thumping against my ribs.

"Alex." I tried again, raising up a hand to place it gently on his arm, gulping a lump in my throat as he took another threatening step toward Lysander.

Alex shifted his burning gaze to me and I flinched. His gaze was too hard and cold, something that was never directed at me.

His gaze visibly softened for a second, his eyes softening. But it was only for a few second as he returned back to his 'killing by eyes' state, his eyes returning to fix on Lysander.

"Keep out of this, little sister." Alex said, his voice not more than a growl.

I bit my lip, nervousness and fear slowly creeping up my skin.
