"I can't feel my legs!" I announced, crumbling on to the ground, panting heavily. "I just can't feel them."
"Yeah, and that's logical." Lysander muttered, sarcastically, coming in to an abrupt stop behind me, doubling over and panting heavily, his palms pressed against his slightly bent knees.
We had been running like mad for at least half an hour and you can say that we were more than exhausted.
I brushed back a lock of my dark hair that was pasted on my forehead, drenched with sweat and hastily started massaging my aching feet, once my lungs that were burning with the need for oxygen, finally felt like the fire in them was put out.
"Are they still after us?" I asked softly, fully engrossed in making sure my bare feet were not too much bruised.
Lysander stole a glance at me and I wondered whether he could feel the panic as well as exhaustion in my voice."No." Lysander said. "They lost us." He looked at me and grinned. "We did take a few wild turns, after all."
I laughed. Despite of the exhaustion and all, I laughed, Lysander joining me after few seconds.
"God! That was one heck of a date." I exclaimed.
"Oh," Lysander said, his eyes downcast. "Yeah, it was. I'm sorry, Zena, I wanted it to be perfect like in all those movies Jake and Max forced me to watch but it was just....ruined. I never meant it to be like this. It was a total disaster, I know. First it was that stupid, idiotic kid and then that Damien guy showed up with his two jocks and I got in to a fight with them. And then that hulk came and the police and..."
Realizing that he was just rambling, I reached up to grab his collar and in one swift motion, pulled him down to my level.
"Listen." I said, my voice hoarse.
"Yes, this date was not the kind of date you see in some sappy romance movie. It was nothing like a normal date. And seriously, you watched a romance movie? Anyway, back to the point. Yes, the date didn't go in the way you expected but, it was perfect the way it was. And his name is Damon, not Damien. Most importantly, I don't blame you for fighting with that bastard. Hell, I'm glad you did or else I, myself would have beaten him to a pulp. And guess what? All those encounters with that kid, Grand mere.. Mother Gothel,I mean, they all were hilarious! It was awesome, Lysander. This date, was perfect."At the end of my mini speech, I mentally gave me a round of applause. I sounded pretty heart touching, didn't I? I'm sure I did.
I felt a little self conscious as Lysander was staring at me, with wide eyes, an almost disbelieving look on his face, his lips slightly parted in shock. Blushing, I looked down, averting his gaze.
Lysander gently grabbed my chin and forced me to face him, a wide grin on his face. It was like he was struggling for words as he didn't say anything for some time.
