"Oh my god!"
Mia shrieked, throwing her arms in the air.
"He asked you on a date!"
I grinned.
"About time." I said, throwing Mia a wink as Isla blushed bright red.
The three of us were in the living room of our apartment and it was a week since that party.
And, you know what?
Ethan asked Isla out!
Finally!
"I thought he was never gonna ask." I said.
"W..what..d.do you..mean?" Isla asked, confused.
I rolled my eyes.
"Wasn't it obvious?" I demanded. "He is head over heels for you, Isla!"
Isla blushed again.
"So, when is this date?" Mia asked, excited.
"Next Tuesday." Isla said and I smiled. It was clear that she liked him.
Suddenly my cell phone rang and pulled it out, wondering who could it be.
"It's mother." I said, surprised.
"I wonder what is that she needs."I answered the call.
Zena, sweetie! How are you doing?
I'm fine, mother.
I called you to tell something really important. Meet me and daddy at the cafeteria near the super market. This is urgent!
Saying so, she disconnected the call. I sighed as I stood up.
"Mommy dearest is summoning me."
******
"Are you insane, mother?" I yelled, banging my clenched fists on the table, making my glass of juice topple.
"Zena Audrey Adams!" My father raised his voice. "Mind your tongue."
I scowled.
"Do you seriously want me to go on this fudging date?" I demanded, raising my voice.
"Zena, please. It's just one date. This is really important for our business." My mother pleaded.
"No, mother. I'm not going on this stupid date."
"Zena, this is important for the partnership between us. Please Zena. Just one date." My mother argued. "And it's not with some stranger. It's with Lyzender."
"Exactly, mother! Exactly!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands up in to the air, frustrated. "That is the exact point. I'm NOT GOING on a DATE with LYZENDER DUNBAR!"
The three of us have been arguing like this for almost two hours. Mom and dad wanted me to go on a fucking date with Lyzender! For their business partnership!
Urghh! After a lot of pleadings and threatening, I had to finally agree.
Father said that the partnership between Mr. Dunbar was really important for Alex's future and that was it. I had to agree.
It's just one date, right?
******
"This is a dream come true!" Mia said, batting her eye lashes with a dreamy expression.
"You are finally going on a date with Lyzender! My ship is finally sailing."
